Little re-elected president of board
Bill Little of Milford was reetected president of the Lakeland school board last night (Tuesday) during the board's annual rear ganizational meeting. Floyd Baker was re-elected as secretary and John F. Kroh was re-elected vice president. Kroh. Baker and James Fry all took their oath of office administered by attorney Robert Reed as they began new four year terms. Board members also set the stated meeting night for the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the administrative of-
fices. Its first stated meeting of the new year will be held on Tuesday. July 8. Marion (Bud) Lantz was reappointed as corporation treasurer. Mrs. Philip (Evelyn) Fawiey was re-appointed recording secretary and Reed was re-appointed as attorney. The bond was set for 850.000 for the treasurer. Approval was given of a supplemental contract for Dorothy McPhearson. supervisor of the summer migrant program. This year's program is being held at the Day Care center in Syracuse
with other workers being hired under the Manpower program. Hire Relations Man Board members accepted the recommendation of superintendent Don H. Anrold to hire Stanley Grabowicz for the newly created position of public personnel relations at Wawasee high school. He will be assisting principal Henry Smith and will report directly to Smith. Grabowicz was a teacher and counselor at Wawasee Prep. Also hired for the 1975-76 school year was Dianne Elliott for primary special education at Syracuse. Arnold told the board David McGrew is working with Manpower in surveying the area for aclult education. If there is a response and a need classes will be considered for persons over 16
years of age as needed. An offer was accepted to purchase a lot. 38. in Warners second addition at North Webster for 85,000. This leaves only one property in the area which has not been purchased for school expansion at North Webster. Fire department answers call to drive-in ■% The Syracuse fire department was called to the Three Flags drive in. south of Syracuse, over the week end for a trash fire. The fire had been thought to have been out but started up again. They put out the fire and advised that it should be watched.
Four members of family are injured in crash A single car crash Saturday southeast of Syracuse on old SR 8 resulted in minor injuries for four members of the Lehker family. Kathleen, 35, Michael, nine, Thanas, seven and Katherine, one. were treated and released at Goshen hospital for their injuries received when their driver, John N. Lehker struck a tree as he was traveling north on the state road. He reported to Kosciusko county police patrolman Thomas Kitch that he was blinded by the lights of an oncoming auto causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Damage was set at 8400 to the vehicle.
