Deßard, in an effort to stem the anticipated slaughter this year, warns Hoosier motorists that the 55 mph speed limit will be strictly enforced. “Each of our district commanders will utilize maximum manpower over the 78-hour holiday period and our five helicopters will be in the air assisting ground patrols,” he stated. The department's new radar gins, as well as VASCAR, will be employed in an effort to stop speeders before they can cause a tragic accident. ■Ke'' u WINNER IN STATE FFA CONTEST — Ralph Reiff won fourth place in the state horticulture demonstration contest. Deßard gives a few safety reminders to conscientious drivers “Travelers should allow sufficient time to reach their destination and should also take breaks for coffee when they feel road hypnosis* coming on.” He added that we are especially susceptible to this when driving at night and asked that motorists plan to travel during daylight hours if possible. “Somehow, people always believe that ‘it couldn’t happen to me’ when they read accident statistics. The 19 people who died last year probably thought the same thing. I urge everyone to drive with extreme caution.” AUTOMOTIVE (St) USED CARS! 75 Monza 2 + 2 Coupe - 5,999 Miles 74 Impala 2 Door H.T..
