sisters and daughters of these veterans and also participate actively in these conventions. Due to the steadily increasing age of these veterans, this may well be the last national convention to be held in the midwest. While recent national conventions have been held in Florida, due to the heavy concentration of veterans who have retired to that state, it was felt that at least one more national convention should be held in a more central location to give more Mexican border veterans an opportunity to participate. The city of Fort Wayne was chosen due to its excellent transportations, housing and convention facilities. All Mexican Border Veterans are urged to attend this convention. For more information, registration, reservations, etc. you may contact Hugo Petersen, commander, department of Indiana and National Convention chairman, at 2165 Riverside Dr., South Bend. The camp site was at first a corn field of Jacob Neff, who donated the high ridge of lake shore property to the church. The first building was a log cabin, which still stands, and has grown to five major buildings, cabins, restrooms and a developed water front. The camp property was expanded to over 140 acres in land and water by 1945. Most of the improvements were from volunteers and from the Retired policeman injured Dana R. Morse of Goshen, a retired Goshen police officer, was released from the intensive care unit at Goshen hospital on Thursday, where he had been admitted Wednesday forenoon, following a construction mishap just south of Syracuse. Working with a construction crew at the old Hess farm site south of Syracuse on the Syracuse-North Webster road, Morse sustained injuries as he cut a wire holding a bundle of Aframe type rafters weighing about 500 pounds. When seeing that the truss of rafters was about to topple on a fellow employee nearby, Morse attempted to take full force of the fall and was pinned until a forklift was used to lift the rafters. He was admitted to the hospital with a breathing problem and multiple bruises. The Syracuse first aid unit responded to the call. Lavent Tom and Mrs. Curtis Cripe were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Jim Tom and family of South Bend. member congregations in the midwest. Leadership for the camp has been drawn from the nation and the world. Programming has expanded to year-round, as well as summer, with facilities for large or small group camping. With camp use by other denominations besides their own group, over 3,000 campers and leaders are annually at Camp Mack. From 250 to 300 campers can be accommodated at one time, while conference facilities can serve 1,500. Plans call for extensive improvement of grounds and buildings, with continued variety

Boat owners to get copy of boating laws
Five local marinas and boat dealers are cooperating with the Wawasee Property Owners Association in a campaign to get a copy of Indiana's boating laws into the hands of every local boat owner. W. W. Spurgeon, Jr., the president of the lake association, said the organization earlier this spring obtained more than 1,000 copies of the latest official version of Indiana's laws pertaining to boats and lake use, from the enforcement division of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. ‘We believe most boaters, whether they are permanent or seasonal lake residents, or oneday visitors to our lakes, want to obey the law,” Spurgeon said. "But,” he added, “a good many people just are not aware of the laws that apply to boat operation on Indiana's lakes So we thought we'd start the ball rolling by helping inform the people who should care the most — folks who own and operate boats locally and who use the services of the
