Events were the 50 yard dash. 100 yard dash, slow bike race, fast bike race, frisbee throw. long jump, tug of war and water balloon smash. Ribbons were awarded to winders and all partiopants. In the top photo Myra Ruch is 4ay out in front of other contestants in the 50 sard dash. She was the winner. Behind her in a close race for second place are. left to right. Angie Hostetler. sports events throughout the year in order to be eligible for a letter in the club Sherrie Lovellette earned a total of 80 credits during the school year Purpose Purpose of the sports club has been to serve the total sports program of the school. When the club was first formed four years ago, it was desired that the girls of the high school represent the school be being actively involved with the sports program In addition to being assigned various duties and responsibilities at football games, wrestling matches, swim meets, basketball games, track and cross country meets, and golf and tennis meets, the members also sene at various girls’ athletic contests and ai intramurals. Examples' of duties and responsibilities are scorekeepers, timers, record keepers, program handouts, errand girls for coaches, an nouncers. press box runners, etc. Distinctive as a unique club for this area, members are reportedly looking forward to a successful year again next year. County bowling league banquet The County League bowling banquet was held Monday night at Wawasee Bowl with 84 members present Awards were presented lo the following roll-off league champions: Liquor Locker, champs and Brannock's Trophies with totals of 2654 and 3639. respectively.

Warriorettes champs at Tippecanoe relays

By SANDY GERENCSER The Wawasee girls’ track team won the Tippecanoe Valley relays last Saturday; however, no actual team score is known. It was a co-ed meet with the girls' and boys’ scores kept separately. The boys won second in their half of the relays. Two school records were broken at the relays. Winning in the 880 relay w-ere Barb Brouwer. Judy Fouts. .Angie Mock and Serena Walker with a time of 1:53.3. Taking first with 1:55.5 in the 880 medley relay were Lorenc Spearman. Barb Yoder. Barb Brouwer and Roxana Auer. Also winning for Wawasee was Maxwelton ladies hold medal play Ladies of Maxwelton golfing association held medal play as play of the day on Wednesday with the following winners: Eighteen hole — Low gross. Maggie Smith, low ne' Gloria Stoffel; low putts. June Auer Nine-hole — Low gross. Bev Buletty; low net. Mary Kimble; low putts, Pearl Miller. Hostesses for play on May 21 will be Ethel Hughes and Dot Stiver for the 18-hole group; and Inez Beiswanger and Polly Boner, nine-hole. Fast pitch girls softball team to practice tonight The fast pitch girls’ softball team is practicing tonight (Wednesday) fromsto7 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. All girls who will be freshmen next fall plus current Wawasee high school students, including this year’s graduates, are eligible to play. Play will be in May, June and July. Girls who want to play are asked to attend practice. The team is sponsored by Wawasee high school and is managed by John and Clifford Replogle. The first league game will be next Monday night at 6 o'clock at Shanklin park at Goshen. The girls will play on diamond 2 against Thompson s of Elkhart Summer swimmming instructions set The Wawasee high school swimming instruction classes will start on June 9, 1975. The classes will be approximately 45 minutes in length except for kindergarten classes which will run for 25 minutes. Each group will meet for three weeks. This year there will be two (2) three (3) week sessions. The first is from June 9 to June 27. The second session will be from June 30 to July 18. with July 4 classes not meeting. There is a $3 registration fee that will be collected during registration which is on June 5 and 6 from 8 a.m.4 p.m. Any child under the age of four must be accompanied by a parent in the water

No individual results were available, but Barb Brouwer set a new school record in the long jump as she was marked at 17’3”. The team ended the season with nine wins and one loss. Golfers crush Central Noble By SANDY GERENCSER Rudy Cesco’s tribe of golfers defeated Central Noble last Wednesday 318-338 at Agusta Hills. The team's record jumped to 11-3. Leading the Warriors with their low medalist scores were Jon Owens and Rob Zurcher. Both shot a 78 in the 18 hole meet. The “B" team also triumphed in its half of the meet. By SANDY GERENCSER The Warrior golf team lost to North Wood and East Noble last Thursday in a meet at South Shore. Scores for the nine hole meet were East Noble 156. NorthWood 163 and Wawasee 164. The tribe's season record dropped to 11-5. Bob Johnson led the Warriors with a 39. Low medalist for the meet was Jim Davis of East Noble with a 37.
