By SANDY GERENCSER * The Warrior baseball team beat Tippecanoe Valley in both games of a double-header last Saturday on the Wawasee diamond The tribe destroyed the Vikings in the first game 12-1. and it also won the second. 4-3 Wawasee had a spectacular . first game Its big inning was the fourth when the Warriors had six players round the bases. Due to the. Summer gymnastics planned at Lakeland Youth Center

An eight week summer gymnastics course for area children is being offered at the Lakeland Youth Center in Syracuse with classes being held on Friday mornings starting June 6. Tippy sailing club plans for 9 new year It’s time again for some fine sail boat racing on Lake Tippecanoe. Last season proved to experts and novices alike that open class racing is challenging as well as fun. Sailors learned a lot from each other regarding boat performance and tuning, strategy and racing rules They also made good friends. This year is going to be even better! Race days are going to be on both Saturdays and Sundays so each skipper can plan regattas into his schedule. In addition to the open class regattas, the organization will sponsor a series of four Hobie Cat regattas and a Lightning regatta Super Porpoise races are in the planning stages. Wawasee site of state BASS chapter tourney

Lake Wawasee will become the first northern Indiana lake to be fished in a major statewide tournament on June 7 and 8 when the Indiana contingent of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society of America Chapter Federation holds its state final event. The launching site for the event will be the Wawasee Plaza Marina located on the southeast end of the lake adjacent to the fish hatchery facilities. The public is invited to both the take off and weigh in. After completing regional tournaments in May and early June, one angler for each club entered in the regional tournaments will qualify for the state final event. Qualifying points will be based on the total weight of fish caught. The top six finishers in the state will win an all expenses paid trip to the National B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation

West Noble wins Lakeland invitational track meet

West Noble’s junior high Chargers took first place honors in the Lakeland invitational track and field meet held April 29 at Wawasee high school. The young Chargers had 76 points. Entries coming in for Tournament of Knights

Officials of the International Palace of Sports Youth Foundation, North Webster, have received entries for the fifth annual Tournament of Knights. Heading the list is Rocky Goshert. 19. of Warsaw. He is sponsored by the Warsaw high school athletic department. Rocky has earned a total of seven varsity letters for football, basketball and baseball. He also was all NLC baseball first team in 1973-74 and all NLC basketball second team in 1974-75. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Goshert.
