Helping Hands make bed pads The Helping Hands met Tuesday evening in the home of Mrs. Herbert Morehouse. The evening was spent making bed pads. Mrs. Gerald Dausman led in the devotions with her topic being “Practicing Christianity by Helping Others.” She read several scriptures and ended with reading “My Most Unforgettable Character” from the Reader’s Digest. Mrs. Dausman led in prayer. Mrs. Robert Hurd presided over the business meeting. Mrs. John Plank, co-hostess with Mrs. Morehouse, served fruit float, sociables, tea and coffee to Mrs. Ray Ferverda, Mrs. Lydia Morehouse, Mrs. Bruce Baker, Mrs. Vere Wildman, Mrs. Albert Mathews, Mrs. Glen Morehouse, Miss Donna Moser, Mrs. Edwin Meek, Mrs. Robert Hurd, Mrs. Paul Schermerhorn, Mrs. Gerald Dausman, Mrs. Elmer Rapp and one guest, Mrs. Jim Walter of New Paris. 'Old Fa Hjpned ' Meeting- . . special number “An Old Fashioned Meeting” was sung by Cindy, Kay and Lori Kammerer and Lori Virgil during the morning worship hour Sunday. They were accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Robert Hurd. Pastor Chad Woodburn’s morning message “Treating Your Body Like the Sacred Object That it is” was from I Corinthians 6:13-20. The Sunday evening singspiration was led by Rick Rapp Pastor Woodburn’s message was from Genesis 6:512. COMMUNITY NEWS Max Shively of Leesburg became ill while en route home from a vacation in Florida. He was taken to a hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., and later released. John Vance flew to Tennessee on Saturday to help drive Mr. and Mrs. Shively back to Leesburg. Ray Ferverda spent several days last week in the Goshen hospital for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Ferverda were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Wildman. Wenda and Rodney. Mrs. Jerry McClintic of Dewart Lake underwent surgery at Goshen hospital. Artie Montel of Syracuse Still remains in a serious condition at the Goshen hospital. Nelson Morehouse spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Blake Baumgartner and family of Fort Wayne. -NSJoins staff of Jim town school Leo N. Seltenright, extension coordinator, in a statement to the Elkhart County extension board, announces the resignation of Karen Honderich, extension agent, youth, from the Elkhart County Extension service. Mrs. Honderich has been with the extension service for over five years. The resignation was effective January 24. Mrs. Honderich will join the staff of Jimtown middle school as guidance counselor.
