BEAVER TRAPPED — Miss Elsie Bontrager of Waubee Lake is shown above with the beaver she and Russell Homan, also of Waubee Lake, trapped in a ditch on the Ernest Hollar farm west of Milford. The beaver which measured three feet, eight inches long and was 14 inches wide, weighed in at 44 pounds. It was taken last Thursdaymorning. Owners of the Hollar, Butch Dirk and Polk farm at Leesburg wanted the beaver trapped because the animals are causing flooding of fields with their dams. They gnawed down the trees next to the ditch. One other beaver has been taken. It was shot. The clever animals have been tripping the traps. The one shown has missing toenails so it is thought it had been one that had tripped a trap previously. *

J. D. Carl was high scorer for the “A” team as he fired in 24 points. Kent Trobaugh and Bryan Smith bucketed 11 and 10 points respectively. Ted Knudsen and Stan Kroh each had 10 points to lead the “B” squad. "A” Game Score by quarters: Wawasee 13 23 39 51 West Noble 8 22 43 47
