New programs at day care center The Lakeland Day Care center, located in Calvary United Methodist church at Syracuse, is initiating two new programs at the center. The first program is the opening of the center to school age children five to 12-years, for both before and after school hours of 6 a m. to 6 p.m. The dav care center will make the necessary transportation arrangements for the school children to school in the morning and back to the center in the afternoon. Program two is a perceptual motor training program, an extensive testing enabling teachers to find the child’s individual weaknesses. Highly trained staff members of the center then give individual attention to each child, concentrating on strengthening skills and eliminating weaknesses. The day care facility, under direction of Mrs. Steve (Delores) Hearn, provides security and warmth together with a range of development opportunities. taxpayers appearing at such meeting shall have the right to be heard thereon. American Lung Association directors to meet in Goshen
The American Lung association of North Central Indiana board of directors will meet Thursday, Jan. 30, 6:30 pjn., Westlawn building, Goshen college, Goshen. Joseph Mathews of Mathews, Purucker, Anella, Inc., will present the plans for the modernization of the headquarters at 319 S. Main, South Bend Ray Markey is chairman of the building modernization committee. Funds for the modernization project have come from major gift contributions. The 1974 Christmas Seal chairmen will be recognized at the meeting. They are: Tom Romberger of Elkhart county; Charles Ker of Kosciusko county, W. 0. Osborne of Marshall county; and Judd Leighton of Saint Joseph county. Dr. Wallace Tirman will introduce Lawrence Walter, recipient of the senior medical scholarship this year. Dr. James M.
