OBITUARIES
Fredric W. Banta Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Fredric Wilson Banta, 62, r 2 Syracuse. Manager of Cromwell Lumber Co, death came Friday evening at Goshen hospital where he had been a patient for five weeks. He had been in failing health for two years. Mr. Banta was bom in Topeka on March 17, 1912. His marriage to the former Ruth Hostetler took place in 1939 and she is the onjy survivor. He was a member of the Cromwell American legion post and a veteran of World War II where he was a lieutenant colonel in the US Army serving in France and Italy. A graduate of Goshen high school in 1930, he was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Goshen, the Elks lodge and masonic lodge, both of Goshen. Interment was in Violett cemetery. Rev, Ralph G. Rarick Services were held in Elkhart Monday for Rev. Ralph G. Rarick. uncle of Glen Treesh of Milford Death came Friday morning after an illness of four months . Recently an Elkhart resident. Rev Ranck was born February 18, 1893 in Royerton He married Vinna C. Harshbarger on November 29. 1917 in Girard. 11l Rev. Rarick was pastor of 13 churches including the Milford Bethel Church of the Brethren in the late ~1920’5. During that decade he was active in evangelistic work and in the following decade served as superintendent of the Western Canada Church of the Brethren He also authored a book on the history of the Mississinewa church of Delaware county Stfrvtvors include the widow, three daughters, Mrs Jack D (Evelyn) Isenberger of South Bend, Mrs. Darrel (Elvera) Byrket of Elkhart, and Mrs Donald (Kathleen 1 Prior of San Diego. Brethren and Rev. Clarence Sink officiated with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wilbur Shireman Services were held today (Wednesday) for Mrs. Berdella E. Shireman, 83, r 1 Akron and mother of Mrs. Dallas Kitson of Syracuse Death came Sunday at Woodlawn hospital at Rochester. She was boro in Fulton county on November 19,1891 a daughter of William and Catherine (Saussaman) Bammerlin. She was a lifetime resident of the Akron community. Her husband, Wilbur Shireman. died in 1947. In addition to the Syracuse daughter, she is survived by another daughter. Mrs. Vernon (Mary) Derring of Akron; one brother. Robert Bammerlin of Akron, five granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren. Interment was in Akron cemetery Former Milford resident shot Floyd Eugene Yoder, 31, Wakarusa, a former Milford resident, was shot to death Monday night at South Bend. Yoder was driving a taxi cab when a passenger shot him from the back with a shotgun South Bend police believe the shooting was a robbery attempt but no confirmation of this has been made at the present time. Mr. Yoder was bom June 7, 1943 to Harvey J. and Clara Yoder. Yoder was an employee of the Steam Matic Co.. Nappanee and was taxi driver for the Yellow Cab Co., at South Bend. He was also a member of the Men For Missions organization. He had been a resident of Wakarusa for two years and attended the Nappanee schools and had been a resident of Nappanee before moving to Wakarusa Surviving with the parents of Ema Green are seven brothers, Homer and Henry. Nappanee. Harvey. Jr of Bristol, Steve of Ema Green and Jerry. Paul and David, all at home; three sisters, Mrs JDelmer Mullet, r 2 Nappanee. Mrs. Melvin Miller, LaGrange and Mrs. Vernon Miller. Ema Green. , Friends will be received at the W'right-Yoder funeral home in Nappanee from 2 until 9 today (Wednesday) and from 3 until 9 Thursday. Services will be conducted at 10 a m. Friday at the North Main Street Mennonite church of Nappanee with Rev. Marvin Stutzman and Bishop Homer North officiating. Interment will be in the Union cemetery.
Memorial service is set for Herschel D. Harkless
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Calvary United methodist church at Syracuse for Herschel D. (Pete) Harkless, 83, and father of Mrs. Harry (Betty) Appenzeller of Syracuse. His cremains are being sent tn Syracuse from Florida where death occurred following an extended illness. Mrs. Edward Turner Services were scheduled for 1:30 today (Wettaesday) for Mrs. Ethel E. Turner, 83, of Warsaw mother of Mrs. Carl (Mary) Nickel of Lake Wawasee. Owner of the Turner Tourist home at Warsaw, death came Sunday at the Alfran nursing home and was due to complications following an illness of two years. She was born September 10. 1891 in Kosciusko county, a daughter of Melvin and Mary Ellen (Watkins) Suttqn. Her first husband. Herman Sellers, to whom she was married in 1908, died in 1928. She later married Edward Turner in lsso and he preceded her in death in 1953. Mrs. Turner was a member of Trinity United Methodist church. In addition to the Syracuse daughter, she is sirvived by a daughter, Mrs. Leßoy (Bonnie Jean) Randall of Warsaw; three grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. A daughter, two grandsons and a brother preceded her in death. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Dale E. Unruh Dale E. Unruh. 19, r 3 Warsaw, brother of Stephen Unruh of r 1 Milford, drowned Sunday in the icy waters of Barbee Lake Unruh reportedly was walking to a fishing location when the ice broke approximately 400 feet from the north shore at 12:35 pm Divers found the body at 3:55 p.m in 35 feet of water. Mr. Unruh was a 1974 honor graduate of Warsaw Community high school, an all conference defensive football guard in 1973, attended the Church of God and was employed by the Department of Natural Resources at the Fish Hatcheries on Lake Wawasee. Surviving with the Milford brother are his parents, Frank and Violet (Grubbs) Unruh of r 3 Warsaw; one sister. Mrs. Larry (Diane) Long, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Miss.; paternal grandparents,. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Unruh of r 1 Warsaw; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Grubbs of Mentone. Services were held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) with Rev. Kenneth Leininger officiating. Interment was in Palestine cemetery.

Lipp Twins Funeral arrangements are at press time for the twin sems of Mr. and Mrs. David Lipp of 3639 E. Jackson St., Elkhart The boys were bom early Tuesday evening and both died sometime during the night. The mother is the former Carol Mynhier. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mynhier of Milford. Lothar K. Miesel Lothar H. Miesel, 25. r 1 Milford, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 11:50 a.m. Death came at the Saint Joseph hospital in South Bend from head injuries received in a machine shop accident at his home on October 1, 1974. Mr. Miesel was bom August 15, 1949 to Otto and Esther (Uhlig) Miesel in Germany. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Haas on October 7, 1972 and she survives. He had been a resident of Milford for several years moving from Goshen. He was a member of the National Guard at Elkhart Surviving with the widow and parents is one son. Lothar, at home; one brother. John Miesel. Goshen; one sister. Mrs Daniela Androgowich. Winipeg. Canada. Services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. with Rev. George Affeldt officiating. Interment was in Violett cemetery. Mrs. Noah Glick Services were held this morning (Wednesday) for Mrs. Mary Nan Glick. 71, f 2 Wolcottville and mother of Stanley Glick of Syracuse. Death came Monday at Goshen hospital where she had been a patient for five days. Prior to that time, she had been confined to a Texas hospital for about two weeks. Mrs. Glick was born in Millersburg on September 28. 1903. Her marriage to Noah N Glick took place on January 7, 1925 in LaGrange, and he survives. She was a member of the Emma Mennonite church. In addition to the Syracuse son and the husband, she is survived by three other sons, Harvey and Walter, both of LaGrange, and Gerald, Shipshewana; three daughters. Miss Maggie Glick, at home, Mrs. Nathan (Ruby) Nussbaum, Bristol, and Mrs. Oliver (Viola) Farmwald of Wolcottville; 17 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one brother; and three sisters. Interment was in Miller cemetery west of LaGrange.

Mrs. Ronald Klotz and daughter of Milford were dismissed from the Bremen Community hospital at Bremen this week. Charles Kerlin of r 2 Milford was released Saturday from GoshefiT hospital where he had been a'patient since December 29. HiS'condition is much improved.
