THE MAIL-JOURNAL Lt. Governor On* named state ACS crusade chairman Indiana Lieutenant Governor Robert D. Orr recently has been named 1975 Indiana state crusade chairman for the American Cancer Society, says Indiana division president Larry Ratts, M.D. As state crusade chairman, Lieutenant Governor Orr will take the lead in the fight against cancer throughout Indiana in April 1975, the traditional cancer crusade month across the nation. Representatives of the American Cancer Society in every state, initiate the yearly fund-raising crusade to provide needed funds for cancer education, research and service to cancer patients and their families. Lieutenant Governor Orr’s national counterparts are Raquel Welch, ACS national honorary crusade co-chairperson with Betty Ford; Edward Asner, ACS national public education chairman; and Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Perkins, honorary education co-chairpersons. Because of a deep personal commitment to the fight against cancer. Lieutenant Governor Orr will take a decidedly active role in Indiana's 1975 crusade, despite a heavy legislative schedule including presiding over the State Senate, as well as serving as commissioner of agriculture and director of the Indiana Department of Commerce. r •' TW Worship 1JEldon Wilson Minister OBEDIENCE: A well-known preacher told of a missionary home in the Congo where a little son was playing in the yard. Suddenly he heard his father’s voice. “Philip, obey me instantly! Drop to your stomach!” The boy obeyed without asking a question. “Now crawl toward me as fast as you can!” Again the boy obeyed. “Now stand up and run to me!” The lad obeyed and ended in his father’s arms. Only then did he turn to look at the tree by which he had been playing. Hanging from a branch was a IS-foot snake! Suppose the bov had paused to ask. “Why Dad?” or “»o 1 have to right now?” He would have been killed by the snake. Instant obedience is a mark of faith and love.
