The Warriors were really on the warpath in the second half. They seemed to get the goal in their sights and just kept firing. 13' proves unlucky as Warsaw stops Wawasee

By SANDY GERENCSER It seems that the curse of Friday, the 13th, lias again hit the Warriors. They fell to Warsaw last Friday, Dec 13, in a home game 60-47. As many ireaders may remember the Warriors first felt the “curse” during the football season when they lost 24-21 to conference foe Rochester on Friday, Sept. 13. Well, it appears that the ill fated day has struck again. Even readers who aren’t superstitious will be surprised at the number of times “13” came up in the game. For example, tike another look at the final scorer6o-47 Wawasee lost by 13. The Warriors and Tigers played a close first period with Warsaw having a slight jump on the tribe. Tim Yoder tied the game 8-8, with a pair of free throws. The ligers gained a three-point lead but Dave Madrick cut it to one as the quarter ended 14-13. The second quarter showed the lead bouncing between the two squads. The Warriors had some fine long passes that they converted to points. The score was tied at 24 apiece and the Tigers were fumbling around with the ball. Tim Yoder made a brilliant steal that he layed up for two points. The Warriors led at the half, 26-24, after scoring 13 points in the second {>eriod Warsaw took a four-point lead in the third quarter, 30-26. Mark put the tribe on the board again with a shot that bounced straight up off the basket and came swishing down through the net. The Warriors seemed to lose range of the basket while the Tigers kept tallying points. Warsaw led by as many as 11 points but Wawasee cut the lead to seven as the period ended 4538. The Tigers started to pull away again in the final quarter.
