Another feature of the day will be the demonstration lunch which will be served from 5:39 to<:4s p.m. Reservations should be made at the elementary or junior high schools no later than the close of school on December 3. Tickets for kindergarten through eighth grade students are 5« cents with adult tickets being 76 cents. The open house will be in both schools and will be held between the hours of 6:45 and 8:15 p.m. Both school libraries will be featuring book fairs. The night’s events are being sponsored by the Parent-Teachers Organisation of the schools.

LCEA decided to pay FEA’s dues as a gesture of support for the organization which has been very active and which has brought state wide recognition to Wawasee. The chapter has been named the top chapter in the state of Indiana for the past three years on the basis of their activities and projects. Memorial to Theresa Barth Last year in 8A language arts at Milford Theresa Barth was one of the school’s most enthusiastic and efficient puppeteers for the play "The Emperor's New Clothes.” She knew each character and how to manipulate it to get the best results (hiring the narration says teacher Mrs. Dorothy Williams. Students at the school as well as teachers enjoyed working with Theresa and they miss her. As a small form of memorial, the 197374 BA's and Mrs. Williams have placed in. the school library a copy of "Folk Plays for Puppets You Can Make” by Tom Tichenor, professional puppeteer.

The Tippecanoe township 4-H clubs recently held a joint achievement program at the North Webster junior high school. It was attended by approximately 70 persons. The program was opened byMrs. Sherman Bryant, leader of the Wee Webster Workers club. She called upon Sandy Koenigshof and Lynn Haney to lead the group in the pledges to the flags. Miss Janet Rhodes acted as Song leader for the evening. Mrs. Bryant introduced two students from the Wawasee Preparatory school. They were Sang Hoon Lee and Jin Kuk Kim. from Paraguay. South America. They were born in Korea and later moved to Paraguay. They spoke of the differences and the similarities of family living, school and community activities. They answered questions from the audience. To be a member of the distinguished honor roll, a student may receive no more than one B, with the remainder of the grades being A’s. VFW to sponsor speech contest The Lakeside VFW at Syracuse is sponsoring the local division of the "Voice of Democracy” scholarship program at Wawasee high school, room 210, on December 5 at 7 p.m. Entrants will include Shannon Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hall of North Webster; Paul Schrumpf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Schrumpf of Syracuse; and Larry Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Allen. Syracuse. The speeches, interpreting the theme “My Responsibility as a Citizen” will be recorded on magnetic tape by the AV department of the high school, to be forwarded to the district, state, or national contests. Medals will be awarded to entrants and the winner will receive a savings bond with the opportunity to have his taped speech judged in the district contest. The local chairman is Keith Whiteman. FEA fall| dressdown ■ i The Wawaiee Future Educators in Action held its annual fall dressdown last Thursday in this high school cafeteria annex. Team competit or was the first order of the even ng with faculty members serving as captains of the teams. Teachers participating as guests of FEA were Roberta Powers, Linda Henry, Bill Kitson, and Bob Kitson. Amy Purdum served I s a special guest captain. After competing in such games as rope t urns, onion roll, hip cups. TV tsnd movie song fragments, fumybones, and three-leg sack .faces, the team captained by Bil Kitson reigned winner. Changes made in PCS; deadline is December 1
The W. Abel, executive secretary of the state scholarship commission of Indiana, announced that several factors concerning the need analysis of the parents’ confidential statement (PCS) have been changed for the 1975-76 academic year. Abel stressed that the changes will have a pronounced effect upon the amount of demonstrated financial need of a student attending college. Abel mentioned that many parents, especially those from the middle-income category, have completed the PCS in the past and have not demonstrated financial need. Due to the aforementioned changes in the need analysis of the PCS many families will demonstrate financial need for the first time. Therefore, all parents are encouraged to complete the PCS. Abel explained that every year after awards are made in the spring, in many instances changes occur in the parents’ financial situation. He further stated that oily when his office has received a PCS by the deadline will they be able to review financial changes regarding a family. Abel emphasized that hundreds of tax returns would again be requested from parents where discrepancies appear evident in the information reported on the

"PCS. For a student entering college for the first time in September, 1975, to be eligible for a monetary state scholarship or Indiana educational grant, the parents must complete the Parents’ Confidential Statement (PCS) by the January 15, 1975, deadline. Abel pointed out that the State Scholarship Commission must be coded on the PCS to enable his office to receive a copy of this form. These parents are also -reminded that December 1, is the deadline for students to make application for the state scholarship or Indiana educational grant program. Upperclass students already in the state scholarship or educational grant program will receive their renewal packets in December. These students have until February 1,1975, to submit I their renewal application to the state scholarship commission. The parents of these students have until February 1, 1975, to complete the PCS and submit it to the college scholarship service. 2:30 Friday, Dee. 27 — Lakers vs Celtics 1:30, Pacers vs Bucks 2:30 Saturday, Dec. 28 — Team 1 vs 2 and 3 [days 4 Saturday, Jan. 4 — Father, Mother and son game at 1:30 Rules Boys are to be at the center one-half hour before game time. Games will be six quarters in length with each quarter running six minutes (running clock.) There will be no pressure defense in the back court. Baskets are eight feet in height. All other rules will be the same as high school basketball. Junior high age referees will be used and full co-operation is asked. Pop, chips, sandwiches and etc., sold will go to the cento* to buy equipment for sports. Practices for the boys last until 4:45, but do not worry about being on time to pick them up, they may stay at the center for other activities available. Upcoming Attractions iCehockey wiilstart as soon as ice is safe, a baton class will start after the first of the year, as well as a boxing class. For hockey, it will be necessary to have skates, sticks, pads and helmets. Several money projects may be in the offering to help with equipment. Regarding baton classes, this will be for beginners and ryn for one hour a week, with two instructors and each class limited to 10 girls, five per instructor, on Saturdays at 12:30, starting January 11.
