Badskey took an early interest in Kiwanis club work and soon became president of his x North Manchester Kiwanis club At the time he and his family moved to the North Webster community several years ago, Mr Badskey s interest in Kiwanis activities had widened until he had risen to president of Kiwanis International The year of his service as president of Kiwanis International was 1973-74. While the August post allowed Kiwaman Badskey to travel throughout the United States and many foreign countries where he was on the speaker's platform constantly, his interest in public speaking has a long history. For a long number of years he has gathered little stones that he could draw on when asked to deliver a speech He said his friends began calling on him for material, and finally, he spent many long hours in putting the matenal in book form All this led to its eventual publication Badskey comments on the book “What with Watergate, inflation. drought, the sagging stock market and other depressants, this book may be ‘timely.’ If it helps a few somber citizens to smile or maybe chuckle a time or two. that’s it." He adds, “If you (the reader) think it will prompt some smiles or generate a few chuckles, here in the sordid 70 s, pass the word along to your friends ”
