Circle K club discussed by Kiwanis members here

Dave Landon, president of the Circle K club at Manchester college and Dan Gehres, former president of the Circle K club were guest speakers at the October 7 meeting of Lakeland Kiwanis club They discussed the purposes and activities of Circle K clubs on the college campus They also showed a film developed through the courtesy of Kiwanis International.

Sunshine club plans fall trip

Plans for a fall trip were finalized during the recent meeting of Sunshine home extension club Mrs. Richard Williamson is in charge of arrangements for the trip The meeting was held at the home of Mrs Dean Stahl She was assisted by Mrs Gordon Tuttle A carry-in dinner was served Mrs Merrill Kirkpatrick gave devotions Mrs Tuttle read the meditation Reports were given by Mrs Arthur Griswald. health and safety, Mrs John Anderson, garden remarks. Mrs Darrell Menzie, citizenship, and Mrs. Williamson, cultural arts. Busy Bees observe Halloween

Mrs Arthelma Marvin, r 1 Warsaw, was hostess for a w iener roast and Halloween costume party held October 9 by Barbee Busy Bees home extension club. Mrs. Arden Leiter assisted the hostess. Those selected as having outstanding costumes were: Karleen Richards, most attractive; Irene Reagan, ugliest; and Mrs. Charolette Richards, funniest Children of the members present judged the costumes. The children bobbed for apples and enjoyed other activities. Each lady present was given a favor designed in the shape of a witch riding a broom. A lesson entitled “cheese and apples" was given by Mrs. Leiter Barbee Ladies visit nursing home Oct. 10 Members of Barbee Ladies Christian Service met October 10 at the church Mrs Pauline Gunkle was a guest. The lesson "Obedience" was studied and discussed. The ladies completed a comforter and finished 12 pair of footies The items will be given to nursing home patients. A sack lunch was served at noon. During the afternoon the group visited a local nursing home. They provided cookies and fruit punch for the patients. The patients then entertained the visitors by presenting a talent show me next meeting will be held November 14 at th® church.
