Russell B. Mar left Services were held Monday morning at North Webster for Russell B Marlett, 76. r 1 Pierceton and father of James Marlette of Syracuse. Death came at 10.15 p.m Friday at his home of an apparent heart attack Bom at Paulding county. Ohio. April 26. 1898. he moved to North Webster 11 years ago from Huntington He was married to the former Kathryn Pettiford in 1921, and she survives 1 Mr. Marlett was retired from International Harvester at Fort Wayne, a veteran of WW I and member of the American Legion post 253. Three injured in Tuesday night crash
Three of the four persons in two-vehicles were injured in a crash at 6:31 p.m. Tuesday night about two miles west of Syracuse an the Milford-Syracuse road. Injured was Hubert Krull, 25. r 1 Milford, brother of the driver of a 1971 Ford; Ralph Krull. 63. r 1 Milford, father of the driver; and Kim M. Slocum. 20, r 3 Syracuse and driver of a 1973 Chevrolet. Hubert was treated at Goshen hospital for a laceration to the right arm. The father sustained a bump to the forehead and complained of chest pains. He was also taken to Goshen hospital. Slocum was taken to the hospital for lacerations to the eyelid, right eye. forehead, right knee and left hand, abrasions of the body, and also complained of chest pains Lester Krull. 29. r 1 Nappanee, tknver of the car. was not injured Investigating officers reported Krull's eastbound auto was attempting a left turn into a private drive and did not see the approaching westbound auto. Testimony continues in Dahl trial Testimony continues in me trail of Oscar Dahl. 45. of 206 North Huntington St.. Syracuse. He is charged with assault and battery with intent to gratify sexual desires on a minor female child less than 17-years-old. Prosecuting attorney R. Steven Hearn called the 13-year-old girl. Dahl is accused of assaulting, to the witness stand. She testified the incident occurred on May 11 in the living room of her home. Her mother, sister and brother also testified.
