THE MAIL-JOURNAL Wed., Sept. 18,1974 KNOTT RECEIVES APPOINTMENT — Governor Otis R. Bowen. MD, has appointed Dr. Ben H. Knott, executive director of the Five County Mental Health Clinic, to serve on the regional manpower committee and also on the state prime sponsor council. Dr. Knott has accepted both appointments. The regional manpower committee was created as an advisory body by the Indiana Manpower Development Council. The primary task of the committee is to review the plans of other manpower and manpower related agencies regarding services provided within the geographical area served by the committee. This includes the state employment service, rehabilitation services agency, state and local welfare departments, state board of vocational technical education and many other agencies whose activities have an impact upon the employment or employability of the unemployed, the underemployed or the economically disadvantaged. The governor’s prime sponsor planning council will be comprised of 28 members, two from each of the fourteen manpower regions. The prime council will be responsible for advising the governor directly on the contents of his comprehensive employment and training act of 1973 grant applications and throughout the year, will oversee the implementation of the comprehensive employment and training act program. The council will review the manpower plans and activities of 68 counties for which the governor serves as prime sponsor.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Morehouse spent Thursday and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Cliffton Deck at Rossville, DI. Mrs. Morehouse and Mrs. Deck are sisters. Mrs. Eldon Sorensen and son Jeff. Mrs. Mary Morehouse of New Paris and Mrs. Lydia Morehouse spent Saturday and Sunday with Rev. and Mrs. Elson Morehouse and daughters near Mtmcie. Mrs. Stanley Kilmer of Warsaw underwent major surgery at the Goshen hospital last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morehouse and Georgina spent Sunday afternoon and evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dunwiddie and family of Bluffton. The birthday of Henry Dunwiddie, father of Mrs. Morehouse and Gerald Dunwiddie, was observed. Mrs. David Morehouse was dismissed Saturday from the Murphy Medical Center after indergoing major surgery on Monday. Miss Cindy Rapp of Ball State university spent the week end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rapp and Rick. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Morehouse attended homecoming Sunday at the Camp Creek Church of the Brethren near Nappanee. Rev. Orvil Kilmer is the pastor. Sunday afternoon callers in the home of Mrs. Edna Tom and Mrs. Emma Cripe were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Niccum, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cripe of North Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. George Hontz of Kimmell and Mrs. Ralph Hontz of Etna. Mr. and Mrs. Emory Stetler entertained Sunday at their Dewart Lake cottage with a '• barbecue picnic for the employees and families of the Syracuse Overhead Door company.
