GR I . of Todd Realty of Syracuse, has released a telegram sent to President Gerald Ford by the Homes For Living Network concerning current government monetary’ policies, and urged President Ford to act in turning around the economy to assist the American home buyct and seller The Homes For Living Network is a national marketing network of over 1.000 real estate member offices serving the needs of the American home buying and selling public in all 50 states and Puerto Rico Todd Realty is the HFL member representative for the Syracuse-Wawasee area. The telegram signed by HFL Network president. George P. Shafran. Arlington. Va.; and executive vice president. Saul Krawll. Saint Louis. Mo., attributes the present hard-pressed economy as the direct result of ••government monetary policies*’. It notes that the present situation has been felt most by homeowners, buyers, sellers, and builders. "Young couples able to support a home of their own, a dream of every American, can no longer accomplish this through normal channels.” Shafran and Krawll state that although it is difficult to come up with answers on how to turn around the present dilemma, "we do know it has been aggravated and extended by current fiscal government policies more particularly those in connection with the issue of treasury bills carrying high interest rates that cannot do otherwise than dry up private sources of capital. The free enterprise system was never designed or geared to compete with the federal government ” The telegram further states that the Homes For Living Network is an association of realtors, not a pressure group nor a lobbying body. That the purpose of the telegram is merely to add "our voice from the grass roots of the United States and to plead with you to consider our plight which is shared by every homeowner, buyer, and seller” It concludes with a pledge by the 10.000 brokers and sales associates of the HFL Network tb completely support President Ford "in any action you may take to alleviate this very serious problem.”
