Wawasee third in all sports tally
The Wawasee sports teams finished third m the Northern Lakes Conference all sports tally for 1973-74. The Wamors had 100 points Winning the all sports trophy was Warsaw with 134 points. The Tigers won 18 points in basketball. eight in cross country, six in tennis. 24 in football. 22 tn basketball. 21 in wrestling. 21 in track and 14 in golf Plymouth was second with 111 points

Mike Bechelli of Elizabethtown took ail honors m the expert finals John Ellis of Michigan and Max Horton of South Bend came in second and third consecutively. HAS HOLE-IN-ONE AT TIPPECANOE Lois Xanders of Syracuse had a hole-in-one last Thursday at Tippecanoe Comtry club on the 132-yard hole number eight, using a fivewood. Witnessing the event in her foursome were Mark Aker. Fran Hull and Lois Plew. Two Holes-In-One Harold A. Schrock of Wawasee Heights made a bole-in-one Sunday on number 13 at Wawasee golf course, following his hole-in-one on July 28 on number nine on the same course. The Sunday ringer was made with a nine iron on the 156-yard hole, with partners being Doug Pilcher. Jim Wortinger. Tom Puianwoski and Bob Gain.

Warriors ready to tackle season — Jamboree Friday
By SANDY GERENCSER The Wawasee Warriors, under second year head coach Hal Traviolia. will swing into preseason action in the annual Football Jamboree at North Wood on Friday. Aug. 23, at 7:30. North Wood will meet Lakeland for the first quarter while Wawasee will play Plymouth in the second period. Third quarter action will see Wawasee against Lakeland, and Plymouth will tackle North Wood in the last period. The Warriors have 15 returning lettermen this year Odds are that talented senior quarterback Mark Smith will lead the gridders again this season. Os the 55 players on the team, there are approximately 20 seniors; the remainder is made up of juniors and sophomores. All the Warriors are in good physical condition going into the season with the exception of Larry Allen, who sustained a broken thumb last Thursday in practice and will be out of action for six weeks. replied that there really isn’t much of an outlook since it isn’t a regular game. This is just a good chance for the team to meet other people from opposing schools. The Jamboree serves mainly as a practice and it’s a good time to see how personnel perform. As far as season expectations go. coach Traviolia commented. “It’s a little early in the season to tell; we just hope to defend our titles All tickets for the Jamboree are $1.25.
