Mitzi Watson, William Kiser married at Barbee on Aug. 10
Miss Mitzi Jo Watson and William D. Kiser were married, Saturday. Aug 10, in the Barbee Community church. Rev. Bryce Foster performed the double ring ceremony in a setting on the front lawn of the church. ( The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Don Watson, r 1 Leesburg The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kiser, r 3 Syracuse. Mrs. William Jemigan was organist and soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her" father, was attired in a sleeveless gown of off white nylon jersey with front and back panels of lace. The high neckline was fastened, halter style, in back She wore a head piece of orange and yellow straw flowers and carried a nosegay of yellow daisies. Mrs Charles Stuckman, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a yellow floor-length gown with sheer flowered bodice and ruffled cap sleeves Her yellow hat featured a wide floppy brim She wore a wrist corsage of Sue Comstock, wed at Milford The wedding of Sue Comstock and Phillip Gene Weisser took place on July 27 in the Bethel Church of the Brethren at Milford The bride is the daughter of Richard Williams of r 7 Goshen and Mrs Rubye Williams of 1807 Wesplains drive. Goshen and the bridegroom is the son of Mr and Mrs Herman Weisser of r 1 Milford. Carl Shearer, former pastor of the Milford Christian church, officiated at the wedding Miss Kelly Leming served as soloist and Richard Fehnel was organist. Miss Leming also served as maid of honor. Weisser served his brother as best man Ushers were Steve and Fred Weisser. also brothers of the bridegroom Mrs Helen Grover and Mrs Keith Smith served at the reception Miss Julie Smith attended the guest book Mrs Ron Goetz. Mrs Jon Dewart and Mrs Dick Sharp opened the gifts. The bride is employed as a key punch operator at Penn Controls, Inc , Goshen and her husband works in sales#-, al Dodge Manufacturing. CL OCTOBER WEDDING PLANNED — The engagement of Gail Jean Coder, daughter of Mrs. Barbara Coder of 1728 S. Carlisle. South Bend, to Harley G. Chalk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Chalk of r 3 Syracuse, has been announced. Miss Coder is a 1974 graduate of Riley high school in South Bend where she was valedictorian of her class. She is employed at Crow-Chisecks and Accountants in .Mishawaka. Chalk is a 1973 graduate of Wawasee high school and is employed as an apprentice plumber by White** Plumbing and Heating of North Webster. He will be attending school in Fort Wayne in the fall. The wedding will take place on October 19 in the People** church at South Bend. The couple will make their home at Dewart Lake after the wedding.

Home Arts club has picnic The Home Arts club of the Milford area held its annual picnic at the Dewart Lake home of Mrs. Juanita Sparks with Mrs. Earl Naegele assisting. The picnic was held at 12 o’clock noon on August 6. A bountiful dinner was spread and enjoyed by 14 members and three guests — Mrs. A. C. Gill. Mrs. Emery Stetler and Mrs. Clarence Rader Mrs. Charlene Woolson offered the prayer before the meal. Lighted birthday cake honored Mrs. Ernest Craven and Mrs. Earl Naegele The business session was opened by Mrs. Naegele in the usual form. “I Love to Tell the Story'' was the song of the month. For meditations Mrs. Naegele read three poems, “The Sacrament of Daily Living.*' "Look to this Day,” apd "Birthdays ** Health and safety and the lesson for the day were given by Mrs. Raymond Cook. Garden remarks on fall bulk planting were presented by Mrs. Donald Holt For roll call the response was "My Favorite Recipe." Mrs Holt received the favor of the day. The meeting closed with the club collect. The next meeting will be September 10 with Mrs. Ross Fadely as hostess. Mrs. Holt will assist her. Entertain for George Schrock family reunion Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Schrock entertained members of the Schrock family on Sunday afternoon and evening at the Schrock home on Syracuse Lake. Those present included Mrs George Schrock of Goshen; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schrock, Benton; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schrock and children. Robert and Beverly, and Mr and Mrs. John Lantzer and children. Jeff, Jack and Jay, all of Goshen; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schrock. Rob, Patti and Betsy, Millersburg; and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Pittman and sons. Tim. Dustin, and Dirk. The hosts sons. J. C. and Kevin, and Miss Marie Rohrer of Millersburg, fiancee of Robert Schrock of Goshen, also attended. Miss Juanita Rose was a special guest of Jack Lantzer. Dallas Schrock was unable to attend. Love-Hughes vows are exchanged in lawn wedding
Miss Gretchen Ann Love of r 4 Syracuse, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. V. Logan Love of Lake Wawasee. and James Jeffrey Hughes, son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Hughes. North Shore drive, Syracuse, were united in marriage at 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, Aug. 10. in a ceremony held before a large arbor on the lawn of the bride’s parents home. Rev August Lundquist, former Syracuse pastor who is now serving the First United Methodist church at Auburn, officiated for the single ring ceremony in the presence of approximately 150 guests. Two large topiary trees flanked the front of the arbor. Hanging baskets of greenery and white flowers were attached to the sides of the arbor. Miss Kathy Melton of Sebree, Ky., a college friend of the bride, furnished musical selections. They were: “Wedding Song.” “Love Story,” “Theme from Romeo and Juliet," "What the World Needs Now." “For All We Know,” and “We’ve Only Just Begun." Bride In Silk Organza The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a white gown of silk organza with Venice lace. The A-line silhouette was styled with a portrait neckline and brief sleeves.
The lace detailed the bodice, brief sleeves, gown hemline, and the self-train which fell to chapel length. The bride wore a picture hat trimmed with matching Venice lace and her illusion veil was caught at the hat back, falling to chapel length. She carried a closed white organza parasol trimmed with orange carnations, white daisies and white ribbons. Attendants Mrs. Kenneth Smith of Cleveland. Ohio, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. She appeared in a long gown of orange and white checked dotted Swiss, styled with a square neckline and ruffled pinafore effect. The gown had an empire waist accented by a large bow at the back. She carried an open white organza parasol with white satin ribbons attached to the handle. The center of the parasol, both inside and out, was decorated with orange carnations and white daisies, matching the flowers carried by the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Gordon Love of Cincinnati, Ohio; Miss Lucy Wagner, Syracuse; Miss Ethel Howlett, Auburn, Ky.; and Miss Jennifer Hughes of Syracuse. They wore gowns of orange and white, identical to the matron of honor, and also carried white open parasols. Miss Hallie Smith of Cleveland. Ohio, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. Ringbearer was Miss Molly Love of Cincinnati, also a niece of the bride. They wore gowns identical to

the wedding attendants in colors of orange and white, pinafore style. The circles of flowers in their hair matched the flowers of the bride. James J. Hughes of Syracuse, father of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ushers were Dr. Kenneth Smith. Cleveland; Jerry Furby of Mount Vernon. Ill.; Gordon Love of Cincinnati. Ohio; and Richard Wozniak of Gary. They were attired in white tuxedos. The bride’s mother was attired in a gown of pale apricot with matching ostrich feathers at the neck. She carried a nosegay of the bridal flowers. The mother of the bridegroom selected a gown of pastel lime green with a sheer print jacket. She had a pale green orchid corsage. Reception A reception followed in an orange and white stripped reception tent at the edge of Lake Wawasee. A five-tier bridal cake was decorated with fresh flowers and white icing. The inside of the cake was in orange to carry out the bride's color theme. Small white boxes of the bridegroom’s cake were given to the guests. The bride and bridegroom left the reception by boat under a shower of en route to the green mountains of Vermont far a wedding trip. Upon their return, they will make residence at Murray. Ky. where they will both be attending school. Both will be juniors at Murray State university where the bride is taking a four-year degree nursing course The bridegroom is majoring in mathematics and received a basketball scholarship to the university. Both are graduates of Wawasee high school. LAKELAND LOCAL Former Syracuse residents Mr. and Mrs. Emory Guy, now of Mission, Texas, left Tuesday to return to their home following an eight-day visit in the Lakeland area visiting relatives and friends.

Debra Thompson, Charles Bird married in Milford on July 27
The marriage of Debra Thompson and Charles Bird was solominized July 27 at the Milford Christian church. Eldon Wilson, pastor of the church officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Thompson of Green Acres. Warsaw. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Bird of Milford The bride’s dress was of cluny lace over taffeta with Venise lace trim. Her headpiece was of Venise lace and seed pearls, styled in a Camelot cap with a chapel length mantilla train, all in candle light ivory. Patti Marol attended the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cathy Vanlaningham, Michelle Spigutz and Joanne Robinson. Barbie Hostetter served as flower girl. The bride’s attendants wore full-length, light blue gowns with ivory trim and coordinating hats. James Thompson, brother of the bride, served as best man. Groomsmen were Larry Vanlaningham. Rick

Following the ceremony the couple greeted guests at the Milford fire station. Since their return from a honeymoon in Hawaii the newlyweds are residing at 303 S. Henry St., Milford. Richcreek-Thompson autos collide Vehicles operated by Edward L Richcreek, 72. Goshen, and Roger D. Thompson, 21, r 1 Leesburg, collided Friday on SR 13. County police Sgt. Ronald Robinson reported that both vehicles were northbound on the state road at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported with damage being reported at SI,OOO to the Richcreek auto and no estimate given for the Thompson auto.
