North Webster Pony League ends season with victory
The North Webster Pony League team ended 1 s season on a, winning note by defeating Milford 11-6 in the consolation game of the tourney at Syracuse last week Earlier in the day. Webster lost to Leesburg 13-12. North Webster’s “A” team ended the season with a 5-13 record and the “B" team finished with a 5M winning record Kent Trobaugh won the batting trophy with a .512 average and also led the team tn extra base hits and runs batted in. Hal Hammaker led the team in fielding with a 909 average. The following boys participated in the baseball program at North Webster: Eighth grade. Kent Trobaugh. Stu Bryant. Mark Walgamuth. Seven young men and women enlist in U. S. Army The following Kosciusktrcounty me# and women have enlisted in the US Army. Bobbi Crafton enlisted in the Medical Corps for three years. At the completion of advanced schooling, she will be assigned to Europe. Miss Crafton, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hepler of Syracuse and is a 1974 graduate of Wawasee high school. Charalett Haugey enlisted for three years in ( the delayed entry program and will report for active duty August 12. At com pletion of advanced schooling she will be assigned to Europe. Miss Haugey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haugey of r 1 North Webster and is a 1974 graduate of Wawasee high school. Calvin Busch enlisted for automotive repairman. At completion of advanced schooling he will be assigned to Europe. Calvin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Busch of r 3 Syracuse and is a 1974 graduate of Wawasee high school. Scott Roby enlisted for two years in the regular army. Scott is the son of Mrs. Joyce Roby of Pierceton. Martin Banghart enlisted for three years in Hawk Control Crewman. He will take advanced training at Fort Ellias, Tex. Martin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Banghart of r 1 Claypool. Randy Adkins enlisted in the delayed entry program for three years as a radio teletype operator for the Army Security Agency. Randy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Adkins Glen Mast enlisted for three years in transportation. At completion of advanced schooling he will be assigned to Italy. Milford summer season ends Friday
The Milford summer recreation program came to an end last Friday with championship games and the annual watermelon feed. Winning the championships were the Sox and the A’s. Both defeated their opponent by one point. Sox 8 Cards 7 Brett Grove scored three runs and knocked in another in leading the Sox to the Little League championship. Ernie Morris was the winning pitcher. Dave Meade scored two runs and knocked in two for the losing Cards A’s 13 Cubs 12 In the T-Ball championship the Area youths ar reMed in Goshen Monday Kevin I. Knisley, 20. r 3 Syracuse and Jan V. Beer, 19, Milford, were arrested in Goshen early Monday morning on charges of illegal consumption of alcoholic beverages. Beer was also charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. Beer was assessed $66 and Knisley was assessed $33.

indefeated Cubs were upset 13-12 by the A’s. Tony Troup. Dave Melendez, and Wayne Kaufman led the A’s. The Cubs were led by Karl Schmucker. Milford 11 Syracuse 10 In the All Star game it was Milford 1.1, Syracuse 10. Pat Speicher drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the last inning as the Milford Little League defeated Syracuse. Dave Meade was the winning pitcher for Milford. Craig Ewing hit a three-run homer for Syracuse Maxwelton ladies play golf with pro Ray of the day last W’ednesday for the ladies of Maxwelton Golf club association day play was with pro Bob Auer. In the 18-hole division, low gross honors went to Ester Brewster and second, Mavis Low net winner was Maggie Smith and putts. Dottie Hossinger. with Marge Thornburg. second. Golf results given at the Wawasee club A mixed two-ball foursome was the play Saturday at Wawasee golf club with the first place going to Len Jones, Ady Howell, Don Walbum and Pat Zwickl. A score of 37 was posted. Second place with a 38 went to Merrill Postma, Ron Bauman, Bemie Miller and Doris Scheidel. Joe Hartsough took net honors with a 68 in the men’s tournament on Sunday. Hole-In-One Harold A. Schrock of r 2, Wawasee Heights, Syracuse, had a hole-in-one at the club this past week on the 200-yard, par three, ninth-hole, using his three-iron. His playing companions were Douglas Pilcher, Jim Wortinger and Thomas Perzanowski, all of Syracuse. Cubs T-Ball team golfs Coach Fred Weisser and the members of his Cubs T-Ball team enjoyed a miniature golf outing on Saturday afternoon. The team ended its season with a 4-1 record, losing its only game in the tourney championship. Those in the group were Rodney Vanlaningham, Kenny Schafer. Jamie Waycaster. Tracy Ryman, Karl Schmucker, Andy Wuthrich. Brian Henson, Ryan Wuthrich. John Brillo and Brad Weisser. Also accompanying the group were Mrs. W’eisser. Doug, Greg and Kathy Weisser and Gracie Morris. Martin DeLuna, also a member of the team, was unable to attend.
