Prairie Twp. has 19c levy The proposed levy on property per SIOO of taxable property for 1975 has been set at 19 cents according to a legal notice which appears elsewhere in this issue of The Mail-Journal. The levy 3 gives .095 to the township fund and will raise $3,364. eight cents in the fire fighting fund to raise $2,833 and 015 in the recreation fund to raise $6,728 The budget is signed by trustee John Lutes The current budget has a levy of 15 cents with five cents in the township fund, nine cents in fire fighting and one in recreation. Respond to fire colls The Syracuse volunteer fire department responded to two fire calls last Wednesday, the first at 11:15 a m for a grass fire behind Brammer Furniture store on Indiana 13 south., and the second at 1:27 p.m at Wawasee Laundromat for a fire in a dryer caused by a malfunction. No amount of damage was listed at the laundry Firemen responded to a call at 2:57 p.m on Thursday for a fire at Regent and Cambridge homes, which proved to be false. A small boy called in the alarm saying it looked like a forest fire, but when firemen arrived, it was discovered Regent was burning trash, the fire was well confined and there was no danger involved.
