Invitation given to flower show The Syracuse-Wawasee Garden club has extended a cordial invitation to the public to view the annual flower showentitled. “Love - In Blooms" being presented on Thursday and Friday of this week. Aug. 1 and 2. at Wawasee high school. The show will be open from 3-8 on Thursday and 12-6 on Friday, and there is no admission charge. Those? interested in artistic design and horticulture are sure to receive some new ideas from the show, according to a garden club spokesman. 143 pints of blood ore collected at Milford
The Milford Apostolic Christian church youth annex was the site of a most successful Red Cross bloodmobile visit to Kosciusko county on Monday. A total of 161 persons presented themselves as donors with 143 pints being obtained. A total of 58 people offered tojtjonate for the first time with 17 of them being 17 years of
'Say it with Music' is theme to honor Mrs. Clem Lisor II
“Say it with Music” was the theme of the reception held at Wawasee high school last Saturday to honor Mrs. Clem (Suzanne) Lisor 11 who is currently serving the Indiana grand chapter. Order of the Eastern Star, as associate grand conductress. Mrs. Lisor is a resident of Lake Wawasee and a member of the Syracuse chapter. The honored grand officer greeted her guests from a white archway which was decorated with pink roses. Shades of pink were used throughout the reception area with flowers and potted greenery lining the walkway. Sheet music was taped to the windows to carry out the theme. Also on hand to greet the guests were her husband and two sons, Clem 111 and Kenneth Members of the Syracuse chapter served punch and cookies from a table covered with a white cloth and bedecked with pink notes, music bars, staffs.

Entertainment for the reception was provided by Matt Solomon, organist for the Syracuse chapter. A catered dinner followed in the commons area, of the school. Tables were decorated with the emblem of Martha on the Star Point colors. Martha’s emblem and red geraniums w-ere also used to decorate the stage for the inspection of Syracuse, Leesburg and Pierceton chapters during the evening. Following the inspection cake with a black cherry topping was served by the 1973-74 grand officers. Mrs. Lisor served the grand chapter and grand Esther last year and had previously served as district deputy of district 20. She has also been district 20’s president and served the grand chapter as page following her term as worthy matron of the Syracuse chapter. Honor son on fourth birthday Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Dippon of r 3 Syracuse entertained at a surprise birthday party Friday evening honoring their son, Charles William, on his fourth birthday. Gifts were opened in a room decorated in the birthday theme and the traditional birthday cake and ice cream was served Guests included little brother Chad Alan; great-grandmother. four gallon pins recognizing their donation of 32 pints each. Mrs. Robert Rumfelt of Milford received her two gallon pin. One gallon pins were given to Morris W. Wolferman and Eldon Beer of Milford and Robert Laudeman of Syracuse. Mrs. Herbert Baumgartner, who coordinated all visit arrangements and recruitment for the visit, served as chairman of the day. Mrs. Howard Hom of Mentone assisted Mrs. Baumgartner. Mrs. Baumgartner, Van Buren township member of the Kosciusko County Chapter American Red Cross, has been Milford’s blood recruitment chairman since the program’s inception in 1951. This life saving program is made possible by donations to the United Fund of Kosciusko county, in which the Red Cross is a partnership member. A total of 55 volunteers gave 365 hours of service for the visit. The next visit of the Red Cross blood mobile to the county will be on August 26 when it will be at the Atwood community building from noon until 6 p.m. Donors who gave at the Milford visit will be eligible to give again on October 11 when the unit will be at the Grace college gym.

WCSC meets in Richcreek home
The Women's Christian Service council of the Syracuse Church of (Sod met last Thursday in the home of Mrs. Charles Richcreek with Mrs. Lee Adams assisting. Mrs. Oliver Hibschman, president, read a poem entitled. “I’ve Never Seen God.” followed by opening prayer led by Mrs. Jack Elam. Singing was led by Mrs. Gary Firestone. Response to roll with “What I Left Undone at Home.” was by 13-members. The group voted to continue support of a child in Bangladesh and to donate for the purchase of draperies for the pastor's study, and for kitchen supplies. Committee reports were heard and a discussion held on incorporating a program to go into nursing homes Election Election of officers was held for the 1974-1975 year to begin in October. Mrs. Douglas led in the closing prayer and refreshments were served by the hostesses. Hattie Brown to be 90 | Friends and relatives have been invited to an open house on Sunday, Aug. 4, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Eldon Clayton residence in North Webster to honor the 90th birthday of Mrs. Hattie Brown.
