Mrs. Jesse Taylor Services were held Friday for Mrs. Mabel E Taylor, 79. of Atwood and mother of Mrs. Maurice (Ruby) Lewallen of North Webster and sister of James Hamman. Syracuse ' In failing health for the past year, death came late last Wednesday at the Alfran nursing home, Warsaw Mrs Taylor was born in Tippecanoe township on April 29,. 1895. a daughter of Jesse and Eva Holston > Hamman Sty* was united in marriage in 1927 at South Bend to Jesse Taylor and he preceded her in death in 1952 She was a member of the North .Webster Church of the Brethren She is also survived by a daughter, Mrs Thornton (Lucy) Swanson of Atwood; a brother, Ivan Hamman. South Beng. nine grandchildren; 29 greatgrandchildren. and one great great-grandchild , Interment was in Oakwood cemetery Felton Lewis Services were conducted at 1 p.m Saturday at Fort Wayne for Felton Lewis. 47. r 1 Leesburg, who was lulled Tuesday. June 23. in a single car crash on the Armstrong road near Oswego Mr Lewis had been a lifetime resident of Fort Wayne and his survivors include his parents, Elmo and Florence Lewis of Fort Wayne; one sister. Ohio, to Joseph and Mary 'Loose) Speicher She was united in marriage to Arthur Ray Evans on March 14. 1912 and he preceded her in death on May 25. 1958 She was a member of the Milford Christian church. He had been in failing health for the past year His wife, the former Viola Pearl Whipp. to whom he was married October 27, 1915. preceded him in death tn 1963. Mr Heath was bom in Van Wert county. Ohio, on June 3, 1895. a son of Mariman and Emily
(Melchi) Heath. Other survivors include three other children, Lloyd Heath and Mrs Dale (Ruth) Purk of Dixon, and Mrs. James (Wilma) Jones of Payne; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, both of Ohio. He was preceded in death by two children, two brothers, three sisters and four grandchildren. Burial was in IOOF cemetery at Convoy. Gerald Wayne Perkins Gerald Wayne Perkins, 67, r 2 Pierceton, stepfather of Manuel Robertson. Milford, passed away Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw. Death was attributed to cancer and he had been in failing health for the past nine months Mr. Perkins was bom April 15, 1907 to Frank and Mamie Perkins at Pierceton and had been a resident of that community most of his life. He was united in marriage in 1958 to Susan Meade and she survives. Mr Perkins was a retired foundry worker. Surviving with the widow and stepson are four sons. Bob of South Whitley, Pete of Columbia City. Norman of Pierceton and Larry of Fort Worth, Tex.; two ( stepdaughters. Fay Perkins of Pierceton and Besse George of East Point, Ky.; two other stepsons. Wesley Robertson, Fort Wayne, and Billy Robertson, Pierceton; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Killian. California; and one step brother. Lewis Baker, South Bend. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Chad Burkhart officiating. Interment was in the Hillcrest cemetery. Mrs. Velma Evans Mrs. Velma Edington Evans, 71. Claypod, mother of Mrs. Eugene Marvel, Leesburg, passed away Monday at 1 p.m. at the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw. Death was caused by complications following a stroke suffered Friday. Mrs. Evans was born October 10. 1902 to William and Bertha (Daniels) Babcock at Toledo, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Ralph Evans on June 2, 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1964. She was a member of the Claypool United Methodist chuch. with the daughter are two sorts., George Edington, Silver Lake, Harry Edington. Warsaw; two other daughters. Mrs Larry Jefferies, Claypool, and Mrs. Maybelle Burnett. W'arsaw; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one stepson. Kenneth Evans, Sidney; three step grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two sisters. Mrs. Lawrence Macht. South Bend, and Mrs. Floyd Grey, Milford. Services will be conducted at 10 a m Thursday at the Claypool United Methodist church with Rev. Richard Applegate officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.
