Door prizes were awarded. Plan School Restoration Project chairman Loren (Snowl Evans called on Waldo Adams ip give a progress report on the prbposed restoration of the Warner Pioneer one-room frame school house built in 1838-1839 near North Webster, by Warren Warner who moved to the area from Ohio. Thomas K. Warner was the first teacher of the pioneer children attending this school Adams reported an estimated cost of moving and restoring could run to $5,000 or more, depending on donated materials and labor. The retired teachers voted to support the project and pledge slips were handed out to members, for monies, cash, materials, labor, or the like. When restored, the old pioneer school will preserve a part of area history, and all persons who attended a one-room school should feel a special nostalgic interest in viewing first-hand the restoration of the school, said Leonard Barnhart, outgoing county president. Interested persons wishing to assist with the project are urged to contact Barnhart at Syracuse. Evans of r 3 Syracuse, or Adams, rural Leesburg.
