Breaks leg at city park slide
Sam Koontz, 27, of 29 Dwane Road, Muncie, sustained a broken left leg at 1:30 a.m. Saturday after sliding down the slide at the Syracuse city park and hitting the ground. JULY 11.1929 Mr. and Mrs. Fred Self attended the annual rural mail carriers state convention at Decatur from Saturday to Monday with 400 at the banquet. The Turkey Creek Farm Bureau will meet -Tuesday evening and good entertainment is planned according to an announcement from Sherman B. Deaton. Mr and Mrs. M. D. Martin are moving to Syracuse from Bucyrus, Ohio. George Xanders and sons were in Michigan over the week end on a fishing trip. Report thefts and break-ins Dave Myers of Wakarusa reported to Syracuse police of the theft of five tapes, tape cleaner, needle-nose pliers, and a Phillips screwdriver, valued at SSO, and taken from his unlocked Chevrolet parked at the city park at 10:15 a.m. Sunday. The car was not locked at the time of the theft which was thought to have occurred between 3 and 4 a.m. Sam Swedarsky reported to police of a break-in in the battery room at the junk yard at 10:50 a.m. Sunday. Entry was through a window where the office was ransacked and an electric impact wrench taken. Officers investigated a theft report of light bulbs and lens frames taken from signals at the railroad east of the depot, reported at 11:05 am. on Saturday. Reports theft to county officers Mrs. Robert Pegg of r 2 Syracuse reported to county last Wednesday that someone had entered her home at Nattie Crow Beach and a number of articles were taken. Stolen were a toaster, electric can opener, radio, and three seta of binoculars.
