improvements to the concession building that it could be used for summer business/ Miller added that a lifeguard is needed for the park, adding that with the summer swimming program at Wawasee high school being over, the town was in the hopes of hiring a lifeguard. Other Business In other town business, town attorney Rex Reed said Goshen attorney Robert Hepler said he would meet with the town board and its attorney at a convenient early date to discuss the town’s annexation suit. Hepler represents remonstrators to the town’s annexation ordinance. Miller conceded, “This case has dragged on long enough.” Clerk treasurer Harry Schultz was authorized to advertise for $2,030 additional appropriations in the general lund and S6OO in the motor vehicle and highway fund.
Schultz told the group $98,000 was received on February 8 of the $303,000 to pay for the lift station, forced mains and lagoon system the town is installing. The board decided on a budget meeting, to be held Thursday, July 11. Wells On Own Property Dr. Miller said Clyde Williams & Associates has informed him that there is sufficient ground on the town land west of town to put down the proposed water wells, and the plan has received state approval. If and when the test wells prove out, the town can issue revenue bonds tiJxcomplete the proposed water system improvements. Approximately $5,000 will be needed to put down the test wells. Miller stated. It would be at this time that the town would approach the public service commission for a new water rate schedule for the town. Miller said the town would be checking possibilities for federal assistance on the new town water system, but so far none has been found. Bids are to be received on Monday, July 22, for exploratory test work on the water wells.
