Simon “Life in Rural America” by National Geographic Society We have 22 volumes of the new 1974 World Book Encyclopedia. There are 127 enrolled in the Summer Reading club. It will close Friday. July 26. Fire and first aid respond to calls The Syracuse volunteer fire department responded to a call at 8:20 Wednesday for a fire of two pine trees behind the Thornburg parking lot. The first aid unit responded to a call Thursday at the city park at 3:55 p.m. for Gloria Smoots when the youngster fell and cut her lip. Karen Guerry of r 2 Syracuse was taken to Goshen hospital, and released, after suffering an attack at 12:40 a m Friday at the Frog Tavern.
Leaflet on disaster payments mailed to farmers
.Al) Kosciusko county farmers with feed grain and wheat allotments have recently been mailed a leaflet with information about disaster payments under the 1974 farm program, according to Howard Silveus, Ehairman for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. He explained that disaster payments are available this year for the first time if feed grain and wheat allotment production is lost or substantially damaged bynatural disaster. Such payments are not meant to compensate a farmer fully for the loss, the ASCS official said; but can provide some income following a major crop loss. Disaster payments can be made only to farmers with feed grain or wheat allotments who have signed up and certified their acres under the 1974 farm

Receives Master's degree at I USB Mrs. Tom Fuller was one of the 817 graduates of Indiana University South Bend campus at recent ceremonies held at the Notre Dame Athletic and Convocation center in South Bend. She received her Master's degree in elementary education. Mrs. Fuller is a kindergarten teacher in the South Bend public school system. Her husband. Tom Fuller, is a former Milford resident and is the son of Mrs. Arlo Beiswanger. The Fullers and their son, Eric, reside in Michigan City where Fuller works as a certified public accountant. , The Fuller family were recently guests in the home of his mother at Milford.
