W a wasee Garden club has placed several floral arrangements in the library During the month of June, Mrs. Don Robbins of Cromwell . made four arrangements using peonies, ahum and geraniums in the various arrangements This mdnth Mrs Ernest Bushong has placed a red. white and blue arrangement for Independence day, and presently a mixed bouquet m orange, yellow and white hues If you haven’t done so before, please take note of the artistic talent of these fine ladies of the garden club of which their efforts are truly appreciated. The library has added several good reference books to library collection, the primary ones being Standard & Poor's Register of Corporations. Executives for 1974. and the new Encyclopedia Britannica. We are also experimenting with the usefulness of large type books of various topics for those who do not see the normal type easily. If you know of someone who could make use of this type books, please bring them to their attention We have a small collection of westerns, novels and humorous books of good quality Farewell held Sunday for Secrist family T A farewell was held Sunday in the Fellowship hall of the Syracuse Church of God. following the evening worship service, in honor of the Gerald Secrist family Mr. and Mrs. Secrist and daughters. Julie and Sherry, are moving to Ohio on July 11. Elder Paul Yeager spoke in behalf of the church, and a gift was presented the family. Mr and Mrs Secrist spoke a few farewell words and prayer was by Louis Firestone Refreshments were served by Mrs Jack Elam. Mrs. William Stutzman. National Duroc show at Logansport New highs were reached in entries for she 1974 National Duroc congress to be held in Logansport July 16. 17 and 18. Twenty states will be represented as the 183 consignors show and sell their Durocs at the Logasnport fairgrounds. The tested bfsar class this year grew to 57 entries. A superior group of test station boars will sell at a special sale Wednesday evening, July 17, at 7:30. Dr. Harold Hodson. Southern Illinois university, will evaluate market hogs on foot Tuesday morning at 9:00. At 8:00 Wednesday morning, the National Duroc boar and gilt show will be judged by Dr. Lauren Christian of lowa State university. Thursday. July 18, starting at 10 am., the national sale will feature gilts, then gilt pairs, then boars. A picnic-style pork chop dinner will preceed the tested boar sale Wednesday evening.
