'Queen of Lakes' has eye on dance-drana career
Miss Terri Branson. 1974 “Queen of the Lakes" in the North Webster - Mermaid Festival, has her eye on a career in dancing and dramatics. She made this revelation to a reporter to this paper following f what she termed a suprise coronation as this year's Festival Queen at the North Webster junior high school gym before a large expectant crowd Miss Branson entered the Festival Queen competition as “Miss Yorktown High School Band.” and not only was selected as this year's queen, but on the previous evening won the swim Suit competition. She also won the swim suit competition last year. Indiana Or Purdue The striking Queen of the Lakes is just 17 years of age and is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Branson of Yorktown, a small community located about 18 miles south of Muncie. Mr. Branson is a foreman at Delco Batteri* in Muncie. Miss Branson said she either wants to enter Indiana university or Purdue university for her advanced studies. She weighs 120 pounds, is five feet, five inches tail, has snapping brown eyes, and will be a senior in September at Yorktown high school. She is a featured twirler in her high school band and studies tap and ballet dancing. She loves to dance, swim and sing, she revealed At home, she is the youngest of three children, the two other members being boys.
Leesburg woman hurt in one-car mishap Jean C. Aspy. 50. r 1 Leesburg, was injured Sunday when her auto went out of control on a curve on CR 400 N. 1.000 feet west of SR 13. She received a cut on the nose and complained of pain in the upper back following the accident. Milford man fined after accident County police patrolman Gerry Moser investigated an accident Saturday on CR 1250 N. one half mile east of Milford. The auto involved was operated by Armando S. Garza, 30. r 1 Milford. Garza reportedly lost control of his vehicle which left the road and struck a utility pole. Garza wasarrested and fined following for driving while under the influence of intoxicating beverages and public intoxication. Damage was set at S6OO to the auto and SIOO to the pole. No injuries were reported
Memorial service conducted by Milford Area Jaycees ‘
The Milford Area Jaycees held their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday of last week at the fire station in Milford. Kenny Peoples. Region II vice president of the organization, was present for the meeting. He assisted as the group held a memorial service for Joe Jessop. Milford member who- passed away on June 21. Jessop had served as a state director for the organization. Three new members were welcomed into the organization. They were Steve Vanlaningham. Terry Vanlaningham and David Gardonio. GOOD WOOD .
