Perfect attendance awards given at North Webster

Kiwanis club to attend ball game in Chicago
Ron Owens gave the invocation to open the June 10 breakfast meeting of Dikeland Kiwanis dub Jon Roberts received a pin for two years perfect attendance and a pin for four years perfect attendance was given to George Davis It was announced that plans have been, completed for a group trip to a ball game at Comisky Park on July 20. The Lakeland Kiwanis golf outing will be held at the South Shore Country dub on July 13. After the game dinner will be served at the country club for players and their wives. Fitness Awards Girls who were awarded certificates and the standard emblem for having equaled or exceeded the 50th percentile in the Youth Fitness test program designed by the American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation are: Annette Mock. Brenda Hunter, Karla Knafel, Debbie Carey, Tracy Dragoo, Jennifer Connolly, Linda Shock and Kathy Davis. Webster Lake weed control program A theater party for Kiwanis members and their wives and guests has been planned for August 25. Reservations are still available. Diane Wajdyla was a guest speaker. She discussed the County 4-H day camp. She introduced Jim Jones and Joyce Norris, two of her assistants, who spoke about their areas of interest. The Kiwanis club provides financial assistance to further the 4-H day camp program. Guests present were John McClure. Longenecker, 19, r 1 North Webster and Randy Bunch, 19, Bluffton, collided Friday evening at the intersection of Indiana 13 and Epworth Forest road at the north edge of North Webster. County officers investigated and listed damage at $250 to the North Webster car and SSO to the Bunch auto.
Mrs. Enyeart at district ALA meeting Mrs. Elenor Enyeart attended the American Legion Auxiliary meeting held at Demott on June 12. The North Webster American Legion post will host the September district meeting Initiation New auxiliary members were initiated during ceremonies held June 4 at North Webster American Legion. Two promoted in NIPSCo's Goshen district GOSHEN — Richard L. Deisch and Robert L. Firestone, both of Goshen, have been promoted in Northern Indiana Public Service company’s Goshen district, Robert Zeldenrust, division manager, has announced. Deisch was promoted to gas crew supervisor and Firestone was advanced to assistant general gas distribution supervisor They both report to Joseph J. Schrock, general gas distribution supervisor. Firestone began his NIPSCo career in 1960 as a helper in the construction department and was promoted to construction mechanic “C” in 1961. In 1967 he was appointed construction mechanic “A" and in 1968 moved up to construction electrician “B”. Firestone was advanced to
gas crew supervisor in the Goshen District in 1970. Born in Syracuse, Firestone graduated from Syracuse high school. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and was discharged as a specialist fourth class. Firestone is a member of the Syracuse Lodge 454, Free and Accepted Masons and the Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne. Robert and his wife. Nancy, have a daughter, and they attend Saint Mark's United Methodist church. David A. Gibbs in Kirch Gons KIRCH GONS. GERMANY — Army private David A. Gibbs. 17. son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gibbs. Milford, is serving with the 30th armored division in Kirch Gons, Germany. Pvt. Gibbs is a mechanic in headquarters company of the division s first brigade. His wife. Cindy, lives in Syracuse.
Anniversary, Father's day are observed Father’s day and the 28th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Ganger of Goshen were observed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Good of Milford on Sunday with a carry-in dinner. Other guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Payne and son and Miss Lee Ann Ganger of Goshen; Miss Lynn Ganger and Tom McDonald of Muncie; Lt. and Mrs. Steve Ganger and family formerly of WrightPatterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio. The Steve Gangers left Monday for Hanscom Field, an air force base near Boston. Mass. A mountain climber is a fellow who will climb to any height to get a nosebleed.
Deep water causes single car accident
County police Sgt. Richard Mikel investigated a single vehicle accident Friday night involving Rick L. Graff, 19, Milford. The mishap, which occurred on CR 1300 N, one half mile east of CR 300E, was attributed to deep water on the road.

Graff was westbound on CR 1300 N when he hit the deep water and lost control of the auto which left the road and ran through a barbed wire fence and into a bean field on the R. Burke farm. Damage was estimated at S2OO to the auto and S2O to the fence. No injuries were reported.
