MARK RAMSER will return to Milford on Saturday, June 8, to serve as MCof the Milford high school alumni banquet. Mark now resides in Fort Wayne. This year’s banquet will be back at Milford with a social hour being planned from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the junior high school building Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. All persons are reminded of the May 29 deadline. Reservations are a must as the alumni will be billed for each meal served and only the number of meals reserved and paid for in advance will be ordered. WE KNOW it's a litUe late for Mother’s day but we found the following in a book after last week's paper was published and thought it worth sharing: Starting research for a book in which he planned to show the misery resulting from large families, a sociologist interviewed the mother of 13 children. Today, over 50 years lata*, that little symbolic flower continues to pay tribute to those who made the supreme sacrifice in World Wars I and 11, the Korean War and the Viet Nam conflict. However, it is more than a symbol ... it is a source of hope and aid far many in our nation. It is a handmade flower . . . made by disabled veterans as a part of their therapy and to aid their rehabilitation. They receive financial assistance .for their work. In addition, the funds from Poppy Days are used exclusively for assistance to veterans and their families in times of distress. LT. AND Mrs. Bret J. Barnes and son Aaron visited his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Barnes, on Mother’s day. Grandpa and Grandma Barnes are proud of all their grandchildren and are now enjoying their great-grandchildren too. MRS. MARIAN Snyder entertained 16 members of the Mary Jane club Friday afternoon. Out of town members attending were Louise Tom and Katherine Knoble. MR. AND Mrs. Albert Knoble who spent the winter in Florida are expected back home in Milford this week. The Seth McFarrens have also recently returned to Milford after spending the winter in Florida. Richard L. Kowaiiik completes course ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD. — Army captain Richard L. Kowaiiik, son of Mrs. Betty Rollert of Miami, Fla., and the late Leo Kowaiiik of r 2 Syracuse, completed a 36-week ordinance officer advanced course at the army ordinance center and school. Aberdeen Proving Ground. Md. £)uring the course, he received instruction in the duties and responsibilities of an ordinance officer and was trained in supply and maintenance operations and ordinance service management. Campaign now on for multiple sclerosis Between Mother’s Day and Father's Day. volunteers for the Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis society will be raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Hope Chest campaign. Ara Parseghian, coach of Notre Dame's championship football team, is the chairman of this important drive for funds. The coach is very aware of the problems that come when this (Tippling disease strikes. Three members of Parseghian’s immediate family have been afflicted by multiple sclerosis. At the present time the Multiple Sclerosis society is helping to support a total of 101 research projects all of them investigating MS, a disease for which there is no known cause or cure. Funds are needed to finance these very important projects. The society- also tries to aid the over four thousand MS patients in Indiana, and MS clinic at the Indiana university medical center under the direction of Dr. Oldrich Kolar. Also furnished are wheelchairs, hospital beds, walking aids, and other needed equipment when prescribed by a physician. The support of the general public is definitely needed for the continuing support of this very important program.
