The Syracuse junior high students and faculty will be holding their annual fine and practical \arts festival this Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Featured again this year will be a play by the junior high drama club under direction of Russell Sonofrank. Added to the activities will be a style show of
projects made in home economics classes. Also new this year will be a display of industrial arts projects. Following is a schedule of times and events: 9:30 — Coffee hour in elementary foyer. Junior high art, industrial arts, home arts, and craft exhibits may be viewed at this time in the cafeteria. Elementary art exhibits and activities may be viewed in the elementary art room and elementary hall. 10 — Orchestra concert in new gym 10:30 — Gymnastics exhibition in new gym 11 — Drama club play “The Cactus Wildcat’* in old gym 12 noon — Choir concert in new gym 12:30 — Lunch break in elementary foyer, junior high and elementary art. home arts, industrial arts and crafts exhibits may be viewed at this time in designated areas of the building. 1 — Band concert in new gym 1:30 — Jazz band and home arts style show in elementary foyer Spring concert held May 2 at Webster North Webster junior high school music department, under the direction of Charles Scott and James Delay, presented its spring concert on May 2. Karen Maggart. Kim Coibrace. Debbie Gerke, Mary Clark, Kim Goins. Janet Rhoades and Theresa Blue comprised a singing group that presented several selections. Other musical numbers were presented by a quartet composed of Sandy Koenigshof, Jill Sliger, Debbie Spangle and Laquita Voland. A drum trio featuring Phil Danner, Kent Trobough and Charles Scott, accompanied the seventh and eighth grade band as it played “Saturday In The Park.” The sixth grade band played "Sandpaper” and "Mighty Like a March." The orchestra presented “Square Dance” and “Finale From Swan Lake.”\The string section played “Pick and Rock.”

Dear Editor: Friday evening my daughter and I had the distinct pleasure of attending and enjoying immensely the tremendous production of “Camelot” given by an outstanding production staff and talented students of Wawasee Preparatory school. Under direction of Matt O’Hare; Brother Jim Lewandowski, OSC. technical director; and Father Stan Grabowicz. OSC, musical director; it would be difficult to designate any one part as more outstanding than another. King Arthur was undoubtly the heaviest part and Aaron Scott was able to convey the feeling to all of us that we were really living in his kingdom of Camelot along with his most able right hand man, Merlyn, the Scorcerer, played bw able and delightful Vinnie Doyle The king's lovely bride, Guenevere. played by the talented music teacher Mrs. Sherry Lantz, was attired in magnificent costumes which in today's world would be unrealistic. Name valedictorians and salutatorian at North Wood
Steven Ray Leinbach and Myron Miller are covaledictorians of the 1974 graduating class at North Wood high school, Nappanee Nancy Begley has been chosen salutatorian. Leinbach is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Leinbach, r 1 Elkhart. He has majored in English, math, science and band Steve has been active in the North Wood bands, science club and has served as vice president of the National Honor society. He plans to further his education at Purdue university in the field of science. Myron, son of Rev. and Mrs. Mahlon Miller, r 3 Goshen, majored in English, math.

dred. King Arthur’s illegitimate son, was cast in a part which emphasized his many fine talents. Steve Stevens did a very fine job in his part as Sir Lancelot. Other “Knights of the Round Table” were played by Andrew Bowes, Cornelius Henderson, Larry Krull. Leon Streeter. Dave Danner. Guy Solarek and John Landry. Their portrayals were excellent. Although Wawasee Prep is predominately a boy's school, it has 12 girls and six were in the play. They did a fine job by giving of musical and acting talents, and beauty, to “Camelot.” To put on a production of this caliber is a great challenge and the challenge was accepted and 2quered by a school who with operation, understanding, ience and love of fellowman, made it a hit. My only wish is that more people of the community would have taken advantage of the opportunity to spend a delightful evening in “Camelot.” Jane Davis

A member of the National Honor society, pep club, yearbook staff and choir, she plans to attend Moody Bible Institute in the fall in the field of music education.

Shamrocks to represent county in Share the Fun contest
Members of the Shamrock 4-H clubs I and 11, will be representing the county at the sub-area Share the Fun contest at North Wood high school on May 22. The girfe will be competing in the group act division of the contest. Pictured here is the winning Shamrock club with Connie Hoopingarner, far right, holding Local student helps in cleanup Barbara Weybright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weybright of r 1 Syracuse, was one of 24 Goshen college students who spent part of their spring break at college helping clean up the campus of Hanover college which was struck by a tornado April 3. Hanover is nearly 260 miles directly south of Goshen and is located on the Ohio River about 35 miles northeast of Louisville, Ky. The students were under the supervision of the Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) ‘and were led by Dr. Roman Gingerich, a GC faculty member. Dr. Gingerich also helped in Goshen college’s assistance in the Nicaragua earthquake in December 1972. The students and leaders returned to campus after putting in nearly 600 hours of volunteer work, which has been mostly raking campus grounds of debris yet to be cleared from the tornado aftermath The tornado caused nearly $lO million damage to the southern Indiana college. Belated birthday celebration held A belated birthday celebration was held Sunday in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Plank of Syracuse, in the Syracuse home of their daughter, Mrs. Eli Kauffman and family. A carry-in dinner was held with the traditional ice cream and cake being served. In addition to the honored guests, attending were the Kauffmans and family. Dermis, Debra. Bobby and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Plank and Larry, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Coy and David. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Coy, Ricky and Robby, and Miss Dawn Byrket, all of Syracuse; and Mrs. and Mrs. Gerald Wagner of New Paris.

Tony Hartman, far left, was winner of the curtain act division from the Hustle Bustle 4-H club. The Shamrock girls emerged winners in the county contest in the group division with an act entitled “Matchmaker” with musical selections from Fiddler on the Roof. There were 19 participating from the two dubs taking in members of the North Webster and Warsaw areas. Vocal support for the act from Shamrock I of Warsaw were Kim and Debbie Ross, Jody and Kitty Dye, Anita Renier, Melanie Huffer, Cheryl Creakbaum, Johnna Neer, Elizabeth Frazier and Lori Stump.
