Kiwanis club has anniversary party April 22 Dr R. F. “Dutch” Struck was guest speaker at the April 22 Lakeland Kiwanis ladies night and anniversary party. Nelson Hunt gave the invocation. George Davis gave highlights of the Lakeland club and told of the club s growth, projects and progress. Group singing was led by Chris Koher. with Mrs. David Everts at the piano. Special guests present were Mr and Mrs Loren Badskey. past international president; Mr and Mrs. Paul Kahler. governor elect; and Mr. and Mrs Graham Kreicher. Guests were also present from North Manchester, Bremen, Columbia City, Plymouth. Nappanee. Warsaw. Atwood and Goshen. 4-H club attends crafts classes Wee Webster Workers 4-H club attended craft classes April 20 at Syracuse The group learned decoupage The decoupage items along with other craft projects, will be entered in the 1974 county fair.

Recognition dinner May 15 at Singing Hills Girl Scout leaders recognition dinner will be held May 15 in the new dining hall at Singing Hills Camp ground. Field day set on May 11 at Goshen North Webster Girl Scouts will participate in an Interassociation field day on May 11 from 9:30 a m. till 2:30 p.m. at Elkhart county fairgrounds, Goshen. Activities will include relayraces, leader games and tricycle races. Girl Scouts are active North Webster Girl Scout Service Unit members met April 23. Mrs. Richard Goins is Service Unit chairman. Junior troop 178. The Scouts raked yards for shut ins. Mrs. Janet Breece and Mrs. Terry Book supervised the activities. Brownie Troop 167, under the direction of Mary Harrel, is engaged in a flower growing project. Brownie Troop 101 under the leadership of Marlene Charlton, is working on various Mother's Day projects. Members of both brownie troops are working toward their discovery badges. Brownie Troop 63 under the supervision of Mildred Gray, will hold a skating party the last of May. A play will be presented for first grade Brownie Scouts mi May 8s North Webster Girl Scouts will go camping at Singing Hills camp. Middlebury, May 11 and 12. Girl Scouts enjoy hike North Webster Junior Girl Scout troop 178 enjoyed a recent hike from North Webster out to
the Tippecanoe Baptist camp. The girls went exploring and learned knot tiring. Mrs. N. R. Niles hostess for Homemakers Mrs. N. R. Niles was hostess for the recent meeting of Efficient Homemakers home extension club. Mrs. Ira Nine assisted the hostess. Mrs. James Kline gave the meditation. Reports were given by Mrs. Jerry Minton, health and safety; Mrs. Joe Shock, garden remarks ; and Mrs. Kip Sullivan, citizenship. Mrs. Sullivan also gave the lesson. The lesson topic was “Health food." Roll call response was “An April fool prank I pulled.*’ During the business session the second reading of additions to the constitution were approved and voted on Mrs. Vernon Zurcher was a guest. v
