God's children home from recent tour God’s Children youth singing group from North Webster United Methodist church recently returned from a week long tour of several midwestern states. The young people gained a deeper understanding of the meaning of Indian culture while visiting with Indian youth in Oklahoma. ’ Their tour took them to Lafayette. Saint Louis, Mo., I'ulsa and Oklahoma City, Okla., Emporia, Ka., and Ottawa, Ka. They gave concerts at churches in the cities they visited and conducted studies for self understanding from a Biblical perspective Youth group discusses plans April 13 I The anniversary dinner of Kosciusko county 8 et 40 of the jKmencan Legion was held April 118 at a local restaurant. The organisation was founded in April 1952 Committee members planning the dinner were: Mrs. Mary Tom, l^ierceton; Mrs. Vera Gross, and Miss Lillian Noris, Warsaw. Day apart * observance at Oakwood Mrs. Anita Fenstermacher, Walkerton, was guest speaker at the day apart observance held April 17 at Oakwood, Syracuse. Women from North Webster United Methodist' church attended Mrs Fenstermacher and her husband, who is a medical doctor, served as missionaries in the Congo and Alaska. The program theme was Can People See Jesus In Me?" District officers present each gave a short speech The assembly theme song "Many Gifts, One Spirit" was sung A noon luncheon was served Missions convention May 1-5 A missions convention will be held at North Webster Church of God May 1 through 5. Rev. Bill Konstanlopoulos, Saltville. Va. will be the featured speaker On Saturday evening a dinner will be held at the church. The Faith Promise Mission Pledge will be observed at the Sunday service

John Atteberry participates in revival John Atteberry. North Webster Church of God, spent last week participating in a revival at Big Lake Church of God, Columbia City. The choir from the North Webster church sang at the Tuesday evening service. Youth from the Webster church attended the Wednesday evening service „ MRS. GREG SMITH TO MISSIONS CLINIC Mrs. Greg Smith, publicity chairman of North Webster United Methodist church women, will be attending the school of Christian missions to be held June 24 through 28 at Epworth Forest. American Legion entertains ladies The men of North Webster American Legion entertained the ladies of the Legion on April 16 with a chicken dinner The dinner was prepared and served by the men Games were played. United Methodist women to attend DART meeting North Webster United Methodist church women will be attending DART meetings to be held June 21 through 23 at Oakwood Park, Syracuse. VOCATIONS DAY APRIL 19-29 The young people of North Webster Church of God attended a vocations day on April 19 and 20 at Anderson college. Anderson. Backwater Friends enjoy dinner party The anniversary meeting of Backwater Friends home extension club was observed April 18 when the ladies met at a local restaurant. Members of the planning committee were: Mrs. Nina Sutton, Mrs Edith Hoffert and Mrs Harold Leach Rosie Mort gave the opening prayer. Mrs. Doug Bowser was in charge of the business meeting. Each member present received a pin cushion favor with her name attached. Tables were decorated with Easter basket centerpieces The centerpieces were given to Mrs. Basil Miller. Mrs. William Charlton and Mrs. Gary Bergmeyer. Guests present were Joan Willard, Mrs. Verlin Bockman, Mrs. Max Thomas. Ethel Grover, Wanda Mickley. Ruth Kruger, Jody Moser, Martha Rhoades and Alice Leach. Sid Guilton visits Church of God here Sid Guillon, professor of Spanish at Anderson college, spent last week end visiting at North Webster Church of God. He shared informal devotions with the young people of the church during a party held Saturday night at the home of Junior Kippen.
Barbee club has meeting April 16 Tables were decorated with small Easter baskets for the April 16 dinner meeting of Barbee Conservation club. During the business session the new club by-laws were read and accepted. Mrs. Stacy Davis was appointed chairman of the rummage sale and flea market to be held June 8 at the conservation club building. David Stookey was guest speaker. He demonstrated the new voting machines that will be used during this year’s primary election. A magic show was presented by Ronald Kuhn, Fort Wayne. Activities night will be held May 1 at 7 p.m. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Kuhn, Kip Kuhn, Kristie Kuhn. Mrs. Bertha Tinkle and Mrs. Ethel Elston

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Peters were chairmen for the evening. They were assisted by Mr. and Mrs. William Fry, Mr. and Mrs. John Kussmaul and Mr. and Mrs. Ivar Langdon. The next business meeting and carry-in supper will be held May 21 at the club building. Crossroads club meets Following dinner at a local restaurant members of Crossroads home extension club adjourned to the home of Mrs. John Randall. During the business session members discussed ideas for increasing the county budget. Roll call response was "A toy I enjoyed as a child." Mrs. Margaret Whitehead read the garden remarks and Mrs. Leia Detwiler gave the citizenship report. The health and safety lesson was given by Mrs. Lois Whitehead.
Father Kunkel speaks to the Kiwanis club Father Charles Kunkel was guest speaker at the April 15 meeting of Lakeland Kiwanis club. He showed a film of the old Spink hotel. The film was found in the attic of the old hotel. It is thought ‘to have been made during the early 1930’s to help promote business. Peck Wilson announced that "trees for planting" have arrived. Members are asked to help themselves. The trees are heeled in at the comer of the Wilson bam. Guests present were Paul Kailler, Charles Speraw and Thomas Angle. Elkhart; Don W. Spith, Charles Craig, Ralph Mcßride and Paul Yeater, North Manchester and Paul Sparks, Garrett.
Easter egg hunt held for youth Senior youth from North Webster Church of God enjoyed an Easter egg hunt held April 13 at Trojan Motorcycle track, south of North Webster. Mrs. Ray Biltz hostess for Tippy club Mrs. Ray Biltz was hostess for the April 17 meeting of Tippecanoe Township Home extension club. Mrs. Margaret Welker discussed clean food handling and read the state recognition report. Mrs. Louis Gee gave the secretary’s report and conducted' roll call. Roll call response was “How I like to spend a rainy day.”
Garden remarks were given by Mrs. Goldie Hunnicutt. She told how to get new plants from cuttings. Secret pal cards will be exchanged at the June meeting. Secret pal names will be revealed at that time. Plans to re-program the calling committee were discussed. Hobby club will be held April 24 at the home of Mrs. Gee, Little Barbee. A white elephant auction was held with Mrs. Lillian Barker as auctioneer. Youth group discusses plans April 13 During the April 13 meeting of Barbee Community church youth group plans were discussed concerning finances. The Bible lesson was studied and a tape was played. The tape recording of Christian witnessing. was made by members
of the Frank Gonzales God Squad. Refreshments were served by Debbie Searer and Sharon Greider Ping pong and other games were enjoyed by the 21 young people present. Dewight Ritenour is the youth' director. Legion has birthday party Viet Nam veterans were honored during the men’s birthday party held recently at Nortji Webster American Legion. The local party was part of the national American Legion birthday party celebration. Twentyfive year pins and awards were presented and members recognized. A chicken dinner was served followed by dancing.
