THE MAILJOURNAL Wed., April 17,1974 KI REV. LAWRENCE BROWN, To speak at Saint Andrew's Rev. Lawrence A. Brown will speak at the Saint Andrew’s United Methodist church at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening, April 29, according to an announcement this week. Rev. and Mrs. Brown are United Methodist missionaries who have served in Brazil for 22 years and returned in March to the United States for a four month furlough. During this four months, they will be visiting family, friends and supporting churches and itinerate in annual conferences and districts throughout the United States and Canada. Rev. Brown has served as pastor of churches in Curitiba, Parana, and in Mafra and Santa Catarina. He has served as regional secretary of social action, been active in social welfare work and in 1967 coordinated a major program of evangelism in Rio de Janeiro area. He has also served as a district superintendent and conference secretary of Christian education. Before entering missionary work he was pastor of former EUB churches in Indiana and Born in Wisconsin, he graduated from Taylor university at Upland and the United Theological Seminary at Dayton, Ohio. Mrs. Brown was born at Mishawaka, and attended Manchester college and Taylor university. The couple has three children.
