Community ..School Corporation and presented the play to the public the following evening. There were over 200 corporation personnel and their families present Wednesday evening and :«ne of the largest crowds • ever' to witness a Wawasee production was on hand for the Thursday performance. Over 450 people were delighted by the play. The play, written in the 1930’s to relieve some of the tensions and worries of the great depression, contained many lines on the government that are pertinent today. The cast was lead by senior Mike Wollman who in his first appearance ever on the Wawasee stage turned in an utterly magnificent performance as the aging Martin Vanderhof. Grandpa, as he was known to the stage family, had quit working 35 years ago and has been enjoying life ever since.

Ann Brice had the female lead as Penny Sycamore and it was truly her best performance. Mike Grotz. the veteran actor in the cast, closed out his high school stage career with a fine characterization of the young man in love — Tony Kirby. Cindy x Hyndman and Julee Staley ended their high school stage careers also with excellent performances. Cindy was the snobbish Mrs. Kirby and Julee was the ex-Russian countess now a waitress Olga Katrina. Matt Gray, Jeff Miller and Walter Leach, ajk seniors and performing fin their first play, performers if they had had years of experience on stage.., Outstanding performances were turned in by Kim Hamilton. Maryls Staley, Ron Diehl, Cap Pryor, Dan Martin, Bob Grotz, and Deb Minear. Larry Allen and Linda Grotz combined music and dance numbers with comedy. Mike Silveus had the cast as well as the audience in stitches as Mr. Depinna and Melinda Tom as Alice Sycamore, the sweetheart of the play, helped characterize the sweetness and beauty of the comedy. The play was directed by Alan Zerkel and Joel Robbins was in charge of the magnificent set. Linda Kehoe again volunteered her time to supervise the make up. The performance was ended with a standing ovation Thursday evening and gifts were awarded to Mr. Zerkel, Mr. Robbins, Miss Kehoe, Miss Donna Doty and Mrs. Zerkel. Persons interested in entertainment for their clubs or organizations may contact Mr. Robbins or Mr. Zerkel at the high school and a short skit or presentation will be arranged. The Fourth Wall would like to become active in performing before dubs and presentations are already being prepared. Law suits are decided by the judge who has the last guess.
