Mr. and Mrs. Kurman Dale Jessop consummated a deal with Cleo Estep Tuesday for the purchase of the Estep property on South Main street in Milford. Jean Warstler of the Milford school has been selected as one of the winners of the scholarship presented by the Federated Women’s clubs of Kosciusko county. The Milford volunteer fire department building fund has failed to get the necessary public support to help them meet a 32,500 note due this month. The Busy Homemakers club met at the home of Mrs. William Motts on Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Ralph Tusing assisting the hostess. 24 YEARS AGO, APRIL 13.1950 Charles J. (Chuck) Myers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus S. Myers, has been initiated into Sigma Pi social fraternity at Indiana university. Anyone interested in playing on the Milford softball team entered in the Northern Indiana Traveling League will report at the Milford diamond Sunday at 2 p.m. Dr. Vem Stockberger has been absent from his dental office this week due to an attack of influenza. The Milford high school band and choir will travel to Plymouth Saturday to compete in the Indiana state finals competition there. 38 YEARS AGO. APRIL 13,1944 The Milford high school commencement will be held at the Milford community building Tuesday evening with 26 seniors graduating. A spring music festival will be held at the North Webster high school gymnasium Friday at 8 p.m. The annual banquet of the Order of the Eastern Star lodge was held last Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Katherine Stoller with 30 in attendance. Tuesday morning a violent wind storm struck Milford and vicinity doing damage to buildings and uprooting trees. 48 YEARS AGO.
