GIRLS* STATERS — Jennifer Longenecker, left and Debbie Miniear, right, have been chosen Giris' Stater and alternate respectively by Herbert Kuhn Post 253. North Webster. Jennifer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Longenecker of r 1 North Webster. She is a member of the junior class council at Wawasee and the advisor's council. She enjoys swimming, track and water skiing and plans to attend Parkview Memorial hospital’s school of nursing in Fort Wayne after graduating. Debbie is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John F. Mills of r 1 Leesburg. The family moved to this area this year from North Manchester. Debbie b active in the girls sports club, speech club and drama club. She was in the spring drama club production of "You Can't Take it With You." A history and social science major, she is planning to attend Indiana university. Both girls are juniors at Wawasee high school.

TO STUDY IN GERMANY — Brother Bernard Leisenheimer, O6C, a member of the leaching staff at Wawasee Preparatory school at Syracuse, will be spending two months this summer studying in Germany. He leaches art and is supervisor of student publications at Prep. Brother Bernie will leave the states on May 29 and return In July. While tai Germany, he will live at hb order's monastery in Ehrenstein, some 56 kilometers southeast of Cologne. His main wort will involve a detailed study of the monastery church there, especially choir windows, considered to be among the finest Gothic work of their kind in the Rhine Valley. The Crosiers came originally to Ehrenstein from Holland in 1437 to serve as court chaplains to a local Duke. They returned to Germany in 1*73 to restore what is now a national monument and a parish church for the area. The work done thb summer will include data gathering toward an illustrated and historical thesis that Brother Bernard is completing toward his master’s degree in art.

Lakeland Kiwanis announces hobby show award winners

Lakeland Kiwanis club sponsored its First Annual Hobbv Siow on Thursday and Friday, April 4 and 5, at Wawasee high school. First, second, and third place awards of 10. five and two stiver dollars were presented to exhibitors in four divisions at the conclusion of the show on Friday evening. slate road and saw oncoming headlights on the left. He turned his 1.971 Chevrolet to the right and was hit from behind by an eastbound 1970 Ford driven by Ronald Strieby, 25, of r 1 Milford. Strieby reported he was stopped at a stop sign and did not see the other vehicle when
