About the President

Dear Editor: It would be very kind of you if you would find a little spot somewhere in ‘What the People Write' for the following few thoughts. Thank you. It isn’t that I so much love the name of Nixon, but I do detest the meanness and the below the belt in fighting of the big-name news media. I’m sure they are very unfair. They want to shoot Nixon from ambush! Likes and Dislikes ‘Tis so very good and proper that one may air his Likes and Dislikes in newsprint. I’ve aeard that there are countries where this privilege would be greatly frowned upon; but this is America, and we still have many freedoms! Thank God for this! The evening of the 19th our President spoke down Texas way. and of course, to the listening world. The wolf-pack

media was given the privilege to question the President. I didn’t like some of tlie Dan Rather fashioned catch questions, but I did like the President’s responses. One thing about the Nixon mind — it keeps even, and often above the mentality of the savage questioner. These scribes and Pharisees that are out to carve the presidential skin can’t out wit the skinee! And that is good! Now the President may be guilty of some sort of crime, but I doubt it. Why call him a crook until the courts f;nd him crooked? I dislike to the very extreme of dislike those who are out for the kill because of politics and the desire to even up 1972! Some times I wonder if true-blue Americanism ever enters these president killers minds? What is your thinking? Clayton J. Mock 712 N. Huntington St. Syracuse
