THE MAIL-JOURNAL Wed., Mar. 20,1974 By DON FOX “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works.” Matthew 5:16 1 believe that we should live each day of the week so that we are true examples to the people that we asscciate with. The walk of the believer should be a living sermon. f The world is watching us with an enticed eye Prayer: Jesus, bid us shine, first of all fcr Him. Will that He may see and know if our light grows dim! He looks down from heaven, sees us shine, you in your small comer, and 1 in mine. Amen. By MAXINE BILLER “We know, to those loving God, he works all things together for good, and to those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:26. Further scripture — Romans 8:26-30. It is told of a traveller in the early days of the west, who came to the Mississippi River and discovered that there was no bridge by which to cross. It was winter and the great river was coated with ice, but the traveller hesitated to trust himself to it, not knowing how thick the layer of ice was. He deliberated for a long time; but liecause there was no other way Io cross, he decided to cross the sheet of ice. With much misgivings and caution, he crept along on hands and knees, trembling at every sound, he managed to crawl half-way over. He heard, yes, he heard singing from behind! Very cautiously he turned, and there — out of the dusk — came another traveller, driving a four horse load of coal over the ice — singing as he went! Isn’t this a picture of many of us! Christians, yes, — but creeping, trembling, on God’s promises. At the same time, others, stronger in faith, go singing tJieir way through life upheld ty the same words. “Have fa\th in God!”. Prayer Dear Father, help us to have more faith, and that we can sing as we go through life. That we can tell our neighbors and friends the joys we have in God's sei vice Anien. A converted religionist at Wawasee Rev. Norman Sharbaugh will conduct revival services March 24-31, except on Saturday, at 7 p.m. at Wawasee Heights Baptist church. Coming from Indianapolis, he is- a ycung man who now embraces Christianity. After training at Saint Joseph college and Baptist Bible college, he has been a school teacher, pastor, and now gives himself to full time evangelism. Pastor Cooper of the Baptist church invites all to the services.
