Mrs. Charles Doolady Services were held Saturday for Mrs. Lula Maude Doolady. 91, of Goshen and mother of Edward McQuillian of Syraucse Death came Thursday night at the Om nursing home at Milford where she had been a patient for the past three years, and was due to complications of age Born October 5. 1882 at LaFontaine, she was a daughter of William and Matilda Scott. Her husband Edward McQuillian passed away in 1921. and in 1922 she married Charles Doolady He preceded her in death in 1968 A Goshen resident for 20 years, she attended the First United Methodist church there Also surviving are two grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren Interment was in Chicago. Harry A. Brandt Word has been received in Milford of the death of Harry A Brandt of LaVeme. Calif. He was married to the former Lucille Strayer in 1969 Mrs Brandt is a former Milford area resident Brandt died on Saturday. Feb 23. of a heart attack suffered on the previous Thursday. Melvin Markley Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Milford funeral home for Melvin A. Markley. 77. Milford, who passed away Friday at 6:45 a.m. at the Elkhart hospital Death was attributed to a heart ailment. Mr Markley was born on July 34. 1896 at Chatfield. Ohio. He had been a resident of the Milford community for 51 years, was a former bookkeeper at the Milford Lumber Co., was a retired lieutenant of excise police at Fort Wayne. He was also a member of the Milford United Methodist church, the American Legion and was a retired member of the Milford fire department. Surviving with the widow are four sisters. Mrs. Arthur Ulmer. Sulpher Springs. Ohio, Mrs. Clyde Clark. Shelby. Ohio, Mrs. Harvey Williams. Chatfield, Ohio. Mrs. Edward Payne. New Jersey; one brother. Victor, Dayton. Ohio. Rev Ralph Karstedt officiated for the services and interment was in the Union Mills cemetery Charles L. Mock Services were held Tuesday for Charles L Mock. 62. of North Webster Found dead in his home at 10:30 Sunday morning, death was attributed to natural causes. He was born at North Webster on September 20. 1911, a son of Lawrence and Nelia (White) Mock A lifetime resident of the North Webster community, he worked as a handyman. Survivors include two brothers. Stanley Mock of LaGrange, and Arlo Mock. Indianapolis Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery near North Webster. Ed Martin Ed Martin. 72, r 2 Leesburg, passed away’ Saturday at 9:30 a m at the Bremen hospital. Mr. Martin had been in failing health for the past year. Mr Martin was born on November 16.1901 to Barney and Magdalene (Mertzgar Martin at Cissna Park. 11l He was united in marriage to Thelma Sumpter on April 5. 1933 and she survives Mr Martin was a farmer and a former resident of the Bremen area before moving to Leesburg in 1950 Surviving with the widow are three sisters. Forrest Thomas Spencer Services were held today < Wednesday) for Forrest Thomas Spencer. 95. of Dewart Lake on r 3 Syracuse Death came Sunday in Marion Community' hospital at Ocala. Fla , where he had been wintering at the home of his daughter. Mrs. John Green. Survivors also include a son. Art (Tom) Spencer of Dewart Lake; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Hubert Kirkdorfer Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) for Hubert Kirkdorfer. 74. of Goshen and father of Hubert Kirkdorfer, Jr., of Syracuse Owner and operator of the South Side Soda Shop at Goshen for more than 25 years, death came Sunday night at Elkhart hospital where he had been admitted a short time earlier Scheduled for surgery at a later date. Mr. Kirkdorfer had a heart condition. Born in Elkhart county to Charles and Bertha (Troup) Kirkdorfer on October 25.1899. he lived in the Goshen area most of his life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and belonged to the projector operator union, working at both the Goshen and Elkhart theaters. He was married to Marie Vanderßeyden on February 7. 1920 and she passed away in June of 1961. On August 21, 1963. he married LaVonne McKibbin. and she survives In addition to the Syracuse son and the widow, survivors include one stepdaughter. Mrs. James (Lynn McKibben) Arends of Minneapolis, Minn.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard Puschman and Mrs. Robert Peffley, both of Goshen. Internment was in Violett cemetery. Mrs. W. W. Juday Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Thursday in Ulery funeral home in Cromwell for Mrs. Mabelle I. Juday. 88. of Cromwell A lifetime resident of the Cromwell community, death came Tuesday at the Whitley County hospital following an illness of four years. She was bom on March 24,1885 in Merrian. the daughter of Frank and Frances (Galloway) Eaton, and united in marriage to W. W. Juday in California in October of 1915. He preceded her in death in 1959. / Mrs. Juday attended Tri-Slate college and taught school for a number of years in Washington
township. Noble county. She was a member of the Broadway Christian church at Ligonier, the Order of Eastern Star, and American Legion auxiliary at Cromwell. Surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Charles Felts of Birmingham. Mich.; a son. Harold L. Juday of Lake Wawasee; four grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren Rev. Graham Kleespie will officiate for the services and interment will be in Oak Park cemetery at Ligonier. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday until time of the service on Thursday. Jay Eric was bom at 8:32 p.m. and tipped the scales at nine pounds. 11 ounces and was 21 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Berlin of W’arsaw and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Goshert of Warsaw. Dear Editor: Why do some people insist on parking in front of, or too close to the drive-up boxes, so people that want to use the boxes must get out of their car and walk to put FIRST AID UNIT CALLED At 4:51 p.m.. March 12. the first aid was called to the Ray Frost residence. Kale Island road, to assist Anett George, one and one half year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy George, r 3 Syracuse. She had fallen from a boat and was taken to the hospital after being given artifical respiration. Assuming pastorate at Richville, Ohio Rev. Walter C. Burcham will be delivering his last sermon at the Syracuse Church of God this coming Sunday and a farewell fellowship for Rev. and Mrs. Burcham is planned at the church from 2-4 Sunday afternoon.
