39 from Wawasee participate in state musical contest
A total of 39 students from Wawasee high school participated in the state solo and ensemble music contest at Butler university on February 16. Community education classes to begin at Wawasee March 5
The spring session for the community education classes of the Lakeland Community School Corporation is scheduled to begin on Tuesday. March 5. After experiencing a very successful fall session, the school corporation is looking forward to many patrons availing themselves of the opportunity of getting back, into the classrooms and enjoying the activities of the evening school. The classes listed for this session are ones that have been suggested by various persons or have been successful in previous sessions. To justify holding a class, there should be at least 10 persons willing to participate. Special interest groups in the community who would like to share experiences with other people are encouraged to do so through the community education program. Any questions concerning the community education classes should be directed to Dave McGrew, vocational director for the Lakeland Community School Corporation at Wawasee high school. In order to register for any of the classes that are listed below, 'call the high school and leave your name, address, phone number and the name of the class you wish to enroll in. Approximately $25 in coins was taken from a soft drink machine and an attempt made to break into the dry cleaning machine coin box. however, entry could not be gained. Damage was also listed to a dryer.

Spring courses to be offered by Ball State The Ball State university office of continuing education at Fort Wayne has established eight fourquarter hour spring quarter graduate courses at Northwestern Indiana locations. One such course, Early Childhood Education, will begin on Tuesday. March 5, at Wawasee high school. All courses will run from 6:30 to 10 p.m., one evening per week for 11 weeks. Credit earned will be recorded as residence credit. For registration form or further information, contact the Ball State university office of continuing education 4410 Executive Blvd., Fort Wayne, or register at the first class session. Other courses to be taught in this immediate area are Children’s Literature which begins tonight (Wednesday) at Concord high school. Early Childhood Education which begins tomorrow (Thursday) at Goshen college and Education of Children with Learning Disabilities which begins on March 5 at Pierre Moran school in Elkhart. Ann Kaiser to head the Homemaker Ann Kaiser was re-elected president of the Milford Senior Homemakers 4-H club when the club met at the home of Sandy Gerencser. Miss Kaiser called the meeting to order with Renee Anglin leading the American pledge and Deb Hartman leading the 4-H pledge. Deb Hartman then gave the treasurer’s report. Share the fun was discussed. There were eight members present. The next meeting is at Beers on March 4 at 7:30. Ail officers were re-elected for 1974. 1 YEAR AGO. FEB. 28,1973 Ev Ganz was elected president of the Chamber of Commerce at a meeting held last Thursday at Maxwelton Golf club. A crash at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday about two miles south of Syracuse on Indiana 13 took the life of 82-year-old Joseph Merl Line. Sr., of r 4 Syracuse and sent the driver of the other vehicle, a Zook truck, to the hospital for emergency room treatment. George Nordman and Mrs. Bill Johnson and son. all of Syracuse, were Sunday evening callers at the Robert Johnson residence in Syracuse.
