Auto accident causes Syracuse power outage

Alvin Schmucker returns from camp meeting Alvin Schmucker has returned from the National Convention of the American Camping Association, where today's plan for tomorrow's camp was the theme. The convention was held in Atlanta. Ga . for four days and Mr. Schmucker represented Camp Mack of which he is the resident director. The A C.A. brought together more than 2.000 camp directors and staff members representing agency, church, and privateindependent camps from the United States. Canada and Europe. The convention keynoter. Dr Glen Olds, of Kent State university addressed the camp profession on the critical analysis of trends of our times, inversion of values and prospects for survival. Seminars, interest groups and out-of-hotel sessions helped the camping profession better plan for the millions of children that will be going to camp this summer The 130 exhibits gave all the latest supplies and services for better operation of their camp, and everyone left Atlanta with a good feeling of having a plan for this summer and future summers John Bradley at Fort Hood FORT HOOD, Texas — Army specialist four John E. Bradley, 24. son of Mrs. Jacob Chupp, 204 Fourth street. Milford, is serving with the first cavalry division at Fort Hood, Tex. Spec. Bradley is an artilleryman in Battery D, Ist Battalion of the division's 6th Field Artillery. The specialist's wife, Miriam, is with him in Texas and his father, Lester R. Bradley, lives at 412 N. By SANDY GERENCSER Both of Cynthia Peterson’s basketball squads lost to Warsaw last week. The varsity was defeated by a score of 52-41. The B-team was beaten. 36-19. The varisity team tied Warsaw at the close of the first period. 14Hits NIPSCo pole on East Shore drive Ari Ligonier man, Layton Pergrem, was treated at Goshen hospital Sunday night for lacerations and contusions sustained in a one-car mishap on East Shore drive, Syracuse Lake. County officers reported his auto went out of control near the crossing with North Shore drive, at 10:30 p.m. and hit a NIPSCo pole. Damage was listed at S2OO to the pole and SBOO to the car.
