Park, statistician in charge, said. "Results from the March and early April survey will be very important in helping farm program planners, trade and producer groups and other agricultural specialists understand w’here farmers stand in the Nation s economic picture." Farmers buy considerably more fertilizer, fuel, chemicals and livestock than in the past. And the price is higher, too. In 1973 it’s estimated farmers spent over $63 billion to grow crops and livestock — that was about 75 cents out of each dollar earned in sales. The main question this survey will help answer are what did farmers actually buy and what were their costs? Current information on production expenditures will shed light on the costs and return situation, and be used to update the USDA Index of Prices Paid by Farmers. Conducting the personal interviews in Kosciusko county will be Sam Bowlin of Huntington. Investigate break in at Turf County and state officers are investigating a break-in at the Turf Bar, Milford, sometime Saturday morning. The thieves reportedly hauled away an entire safe.
