Robert Heady in first year
as Warriors' chief
Like coach Tallman of Warsaw Robert Heady took a team into the 1973 sectional tournament and came away with a victory. Last year Heady was coaching at Griffith where he won two conference titles and the 1973 sectional crown This year Heady is chief of the Wawasee Warriors and he is out for another sectional crown. He wants his Warriors on top when the tournament is over and he has the potential to pull off the win. Heady began his coaching career at Frankfort as assistant under Phil Buck. After two years at Frankfort, he accepted the assistant varsity position at Warren Central under Carl McNulty and remained for three years. He served at Griffith for four years. As an athlete Heady lettered in basketball and basketball at Eastern Kentucky State and at Ball State. He had continued to play m semi-pro baseball leagues since college. He is a graduate of Frankton high school and received his BS and MS degrees from Ball State in physical education, health and earth science
