Career in-service set at Syracuse Indiana Career Resource Center staff members will be at Lakeland Community School Corporation February 13, 14 and 18 to conduct a career education in-service program with junior high school teachers. Career education is an educational system which is gaining interest and attention throughout our country. Mem bers of the Indiana State Department of Public Instruction, as well as many Indiana educators, are committed to the career education concept. They believe that all students are entitled to educational experiences that prepare them for economic independence, personal fulfillment and an appreciation for the dignity of work. As they work to include this career education in their classrooms, school teachers and counselors often need information and suggestions. When the staff of the Indiana Career Resource Center conducts its inservice program with Lakeland’s junior high school teachers, they will be utilizing this groin’s creative talents for their school. The Indiana Career Resource Center, in its fourth year of operation, is a career education project funded through the vocational education division of the Indiana State Department of Public Instruction and coordinated by the education division of Indiana university at South Bend. Heating lamps cause fire The Leesburg fire department was assisted by the Warsaw fire department Thursday on the Armstrong road, east of Leesburg, when a fire in a metal barn owned by Howard Lursen was reported. Cause of the fire was attributed to heating lamps used in the barn which housed pigs.
