E Tat man 140 JV nipped by West Noble By SANDY GERENCSER Jerry Lambert’s young Warriors were clipped in the final seconds of an exciting game Saturday night by the West Noble Chargers. The JV took an early lead in the first quarter, but the Chargers battled back to tie the contest, 99. The second period was close and it looked as if the two teams would leave for the locker room deadlocked, but a foul in the final seconds gave West Noble the halftime edge, 22-21. The Warriors completely dominated the third quarter. They scored ten points and held West Noble to one. They led 31-23 at the period’s termination. It looked as if the Warriors would breeze through the final quarter also, but a big rally by the Chargers changed that. West Noble captured the lead, 37-36, with 1:19 left in the game. Ralph Reiff converted a pair of free throws to put the Warriors ahead, 38-37, with but eight seconds left in the game. The Chargers raced down the court and put up a lucky shot to win, 39-38. Steve Troup led the scoring attack with nine points. Dave Wollman followed with seven. Chad Singrey and Ralph Reiff each netted six pants. Paul Miller and Larry Allen scored three apiece; Del Acton had two. Steve Kroh and Craig Sorenson each chipped in a point.
