They were accompanied by Miss Elaine Kilmer Pastor Woodbum delivered the morning message “How to Get Even” from Matthew 5:38-42. Sunday evening the film “In the Presence of Mine Enemy” was shown. It was a story of a Viet Nam POW. Pastor Woodburn delivered the evening message “You’ve Got It Coming” from I Peter 4:12-19. Helping Hands meet to knott crib comforters The Helping Hands met at the home of Mrs. Herbert Morehouse on January 22 with Mrs. Bruce Baker as co-hostess. The group knotted three crib comforters, made several cancer pads and embroidered pillow cases. Mrs. Max Shively gave devotions “Process of Trusting the Lord” with a reading from Psalms 37:3-5 and 55:22 and I Peter 5:7. She also led in prayer. Blueberry and cherry cheese cake, candy, spice hot tang were served to Mrs. Albert Mathews, Mrs. Charles Ryman, Mrs. John Stookey, Mrs. Bruce Baker, Mrs. Max Shively, Mrs. Glen Morehouse, Mrs. Lydia Morehouse, Mrs. Robert Hurd, Miss Donna Moser, Min Doris Tom, Mrs. Chad Woodburn and Mrs. Herbert Morehouse. Mrs. Harbert Morehouse spent last week in Peru at which time her mother, Mrs. Clara Fisher underwent surgery at Dukes Memorial hospital. —NS— George Xanders on dean's list at Wittenberg SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — George Xanders, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Xanders, 178 N. Shore Dr., Syracuse, has been named to the dean’s list at Wittenberg university for the fall term of the 1973-74 academic year. The dean’s list honors full time students who earn academic averages of 3.66 or better (4.0 to straight “A”). Wittenberg is a private liberal arts university located in Springfield, Ohio. More than 2,400 students from all sections of the United States and from several foreign countries compose the undergraduate community. Founded in 1845, the university is affiliated with the Lutheran Church in America. Leesburg girl in critical condition following accident A car-truck accident Thursday at the intersection of SR 13 and US Mat Pierceton resulted in one person being hospitalized in critical condition at the Parkview hospital in Fort Wayne. Mis* Eileen Moorehouse, 17, r 1 Leesburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Moorehouse, is listed in critical condition while the driver of the track, Thomas L Holdgrafer, 30, Elkhart, was not injured. Miss Moorehouse suffered a severe head laceration and head injuries. State trooper Melvin Kepiinger investigated and reported that Holdgrafer was eastbound on US 30 when he failed to see the automatic traffic signal was red due to the sun shining in his eyes. Upon approaching the light Holdgrafer noticed the light was red but was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. The track hit the driver’s side of the Moorehouse auto which was northbound on SR 13. Damage was listed at 3800 to the track and 32,000 to the 1373 model car Mis* Moorehouse was operating.
