Karen Marie Webb and Robert . Lloyd Bell were married December 29 in the Milford Christian church. Eldon Wilson pastor of the churchy performed the double ring ceremony the bnde is the daughter of Mr and Mrs James C Webb, r 1 Leesburg Mr and Mrs Richard Bell. Syracuse, are the bridegroom's parents A large bouquet of red carnations with greenery and two lighted candelabra, decorated with red carnations and greenery, adorned the altar area Music was provided by Mrs Jay Pippinger at the organ. The bnde, given in marnage by her father, was attired in a floor length gown of white chiffon over satin It featured a high neckline, empire waist, long chiffon sleeves and a chiffon ruffle around the hemline of the skirt. Her floor length veil was made of nylon netting She carried a bouquet of red roses, red carnations and greenery j Mrs Mark Meerzo. Leesburg, vac ted as her sister's matron of rumor She wore a dress styled with empire waist and high neckline It featured a white satin vest and burgandy ruffled trim around the bottom of the skirt. She wore a head piece of cockscomb greenery and carried a matching bouquet. . Miss Rhonda Bell, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid Miss Rebecca Ann Webb served as her sister's junior bridesmaid ’ Both bridal attendants were attired in gowns similar to the one worn by the matron of honor They carried identical bouquets David Bushong. President Mrs Clayton Woolson had charge of the business session Reports from several committees were given. Eight boxes of clothing were taken to North Manchester for delivery to the mission school at Lost Creek, Ky. Two members reported they had distributed 12 Christmas fruit plates to shut-ins. A letter of thanks for the monetary gift sent to the Brethren home at Flora was read. Mrs. Gordon Rhodes, assisted by Mrs Ernest Patterson and Mrs Hubert Cam. gave the devotional program. “Praise the Lord for Music “ During the social hour which followed, refreshments were served by the hostess. Mrs. Cain will be hostess for the next meeting and Mrs. Herbert Stump will be leader CELEBRATES FIRST BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY Mr and Mrs Joe Brown of Millersburg entertained Sundayevening for the first birthdayanniversary of their son Jeffrey. Grandparents attending were Mr and Mrs Dick Schlemmer of Millersburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Brown, Syracuse. Mrs. Mary Brown of Syracuse, a great-grandmother, was also present.

Junior Merry Maidens elect new officers By JANE WILSON The Junior Merry Maidens 4-H club held their organizational meeting and have started the club out with a good note The American pledge was given by Stephanie Baumgartner and the 4-H pledge by Mischelle Johnston. Dues were set. Girls were reminded that dues and enrollment cards are due at the January 15 meeting An election was held with the following results • President — Jane Wilson Vice president — Mischelle Johnston Secretary — Cindy Rapp Treasurer —- Brenda Davis Reporter — Baumgartner Health and safety — Janet Wall Recreation — Julia Rhodes Song leader — Lori Kleinknight The club is trying a new system this year where all the major officers have assistants to enable the younger girls to learn more. The officers are as follows. Assistant president — Beth , Burke .Assistant secretary — Sherrill Wise Assistant treasurer — Shari Miller The meeting was then closed. Christmas Party The Junior Merry Maidens held their Christmas party and started out by caroling. We went to the nursing home and delivered a basket of fruit while we sang. , The girls then went back to the fire station and had a gift exchange Jane Wilson. president, presented Mrs. Robert Buhrt her gift from the club. Cocoa and cookies were served and the meeting adjourned. AC TO WED — Mr. and Mrs. James Ernst of r 4 Syracuse announce the engagement of their daughter. Miss Teddi Mangas, to Ted Owen Moser of Sycamore Hills. Elwood. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Moser of Sycamore Hills. Miss Mangas is a student at Indiana university, Fort Wayne, majoring in interior design. She is a member of Tri Kappa sorority and the Greek Orthodox church. Her fiance will graduate this summer from General Motors Institute at Flint. Mich., and is employed with Delco Remy at Anderson. He is a member of the First United Methodist church and Delta Tau Delta fraternity. A June 22 wedding is being planned.

Father Edward Keller, C.S.C. of Notre Dame, officiated for the double ring ceremony uniting Miss Marianne Gans of r 3 Syracuse and Richard Reeves, Fort Wayne, in marriage on Saturday. Dec. 29, at Saint Martin dePorres Catholic church, Syracuse. There were 200 guests in attendance. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ray J. Gans of r 3 Syracuse and Edward Reeves. Fort Wayne. The wedding setting was c corated with poinsettias, a large manger scene and fir trees. Mrs. Peter Savage of Syracuse provided organ music and songs were by Mr. and Mrs Michael Gans. Bride In Satin And Lace Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of A-line silhouette styling of ivory satin and English Nottingham lace. Lace beaded in seed pearls formed the bodice, the high neckline and long fitted sleeves. The satin skirt and selftrain flowed to chapel length. A Camelot cap of Nottingham lace held her elbow length veil of silk illusion. She carried a cascade of stephanotis accented with pine and red sweetheart roses. Miss Jenni Gans of r 3 Syracuse served her sister as maid of honor in a gown of pink crepe with a ruby red jacket. A tiny ruffle of crepe outlined the collar and cuff of the sleeves. She wore a ruby velvet picture hat with pink ribbon. Her flowers were a rainbow of caored flowers to match all the colors the attendants were wearing, and accented with sweetheart roses Bridesmaids were Miss Fran Martin of Homewood. 111., Miss Shelley LaMaster of Fort Wayne, and Mrs George Kovach of Fort Wayne, all friends of the bride. They were attired in gowns and hats identical to the maid of honor only in shades of emerald with nile. royal with blue and purple with lilac. Their flowers were also identical to the hor.or attendant George Kovach of Fort Wayne served his friend as best man Groomsmen were Gregory Reeves of Saint Meinrad, brother of the bridegroom, DennyChandler of Fort Wayne, and Timothy Leffers. also Fort Wayne, both friends of the bridegroom Ushers were Ray Gans of r 3 Syracuse and brother of the bride and Robert NanCarrow of Fort Wayne, and friend of the bridegroom. The mother of the bride chose to wear a floor length gown with matching floor length vest and a small corsage in an ivory color. Reception The J. Frederick trio provided music for the reception which followed in the church basement Mrs. John Pusti of Syracuse catered for the dinner held for relatives and close friends following the reception, with cousins of the bride serving. The bridegroom's father entertained at a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at the Kale. Island Beacon. Following a honeymoon trip to
Lake Geneva, Wis., the couple will make residence in Fort Wayne. PTior to the wedding, the bride was employed at the State Bank of attended Bishop Dwenger high school at Fort Wayne and Saint Francis college, also Fort Wayne. Her husband also attended Bishop Dwenger high school, is a student at Indiana-Purdue Extension in Fort W’ayne and assistant manager of Statewood Plaza Haag Drugstore in Fort Wayne. Eastern Star in January 2 stated meeting Members of Kosciusko chapter 160, Order of the Eastern Star, met January' 2 in the Masonic temple at Milford for their first stated meeting of 1974. Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Seely presided in the east. Decorations for the evening carried out the winter theme with poinsettias, flickering lights and white net in the east. Candles and winter scenes were found elsewhere throughout the chapter room and the temple. At the close of the meeting a memorial service was held for the chapters secretary, Mrs. Wilbur (Bernice) Baumgartner, who died in December. Refreshments of cake and coffee were served in the dining room by Mrs. Agnes Hurd. Mrs. Hattie Becker and Mrs. Marshall Estep. Happy Birthday was sung to the worthy patron and a gift presented to him in honor of his January birthday.

Sorosis club sees the USA with Karstedts “See the USA" was the title of a slide and tape program presented by Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Karstedt at the Milford home of Mrs. Bill Little on Monday evening. The slides pictured the trip the Karstedts took last summer on a tour through the western states including Utah. Colorado. California and Arizona. To add to the beauty of the scenery, a tape was played of voices singing, musical recordings. conversation. the pounding surf and the Pacific Ocean and many other interesting sound effects. During the business meeting thank-you notes were read by members from the special education classes at the Lakeland schools for the gift that was sent by the club in December. Round Table ladies elect new officers The Ladies of the Round Table of Syracuse met Monday night in the home of Mrs. Merton Meredith with 16 in attendance. Following routine opening with the pledges and collect. Mrs. Paul Rush, club president, presided for the business portion and election of officers for the new year. Officers elected were: President — Mrs. James Nelson Vice president — Mrs. Milton Brice Secretary — Mrs. Robert Laudeman Treasurer — Mrs. Kennard Robinson. Program Mrs. John A. Naab gave the evening program entitled. “Kitchen Magic.” She emphasized the importance of the kitchen as the center of each family’s life. Mrs. Naab used excerpts from "Pearl’s Kitchen,” a book of common sense philosophy and recipes written by world famous Pearl Bailey, in her thoughtprovoking program. Refreshments during the social „ hour were served from an appropriately decorated table. The next meeting of the group will be January 28 in the home of Mrs. Junior Hollar at Oakwood Park.

Wilson of Tampa, Fla. The marriage took place on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon in Temple Terrace Presbyterian church at Temple Terrace. Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Kuilema and son Douglas of Syracuse, Jane Waltz, North Webster, and Mr. and Mrs. George Cornelius of Tippecanoe Lake have just returned from a vacation trip to Florida where they attended the wedding. Worthy grand matron Mrs. Allen Meyerrose inspected the Kosciusko. Leesburg and Bourbon Eastern Star chapters on Thursday evening. Jan. 3, at the Leesburg Masonic temple. A dinner was held at the Leesburg United Methodist ‘ church preceding the inspection. Hie tables at the church were decorated with miniature houses. FTior to the opening of the chapters a baby dedication was held with the Kosciusko officers under worthy matron Mrs. D. G. Seely and worthy patron D. G. Seely assisting the grand officers who were [resent. Babies dedicated were Jason Brooks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brooks and Robbie and Vicki Beer, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Beer, all of Milford. A number of members of the Bourbon chapter received 50 year awards of gold. Presiding during the evening with worthy matron and patron Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Seely of Milford were Mrs. Jack Hetler and Douglas Metcalf of Leesburg and Mrs. Jacob Klinefelter and Cletus Griffith of Bourbon. The chapter room was decorated with a fire place, doll and toys around a family setting and the message “Keep the home fires burning.” Grand chapter officers present besides the worthy grand matron were Jerry Walker, grand conductress of W'awaka; grand Esther.
