J. L Klines are married 60 years Rev. and Mrs. J. L. Kline, North Webster, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on New Year's day. c There was no formal celebration. On December 30 Rev and Mrs Kline were honored guests at a family dinner given at a local restaurant by Mr. and Mrs. J. Royal Kline, South Bend, Mrs. Mazel Miller and Miss Sally Jo Miller, North Webster. They are the parents of four children Ormel Kline. North Palm Beach, Fla , J. Royal Kline, South Bend, Mrs. Mazil Miller. North Webster and the late Noble Kline, South Bend. Rev and Mrs Kline were married January 1, 1914 near North Webster. They have resided in or near the North Webster community all of their married life except for a short period when they lived near South Bend. Cards, congratulations and phone calls were received from many friends and relatives.

establish a headquarters office for Campus Crusade in Africa as well as to train Christian laymen and women and pastors how to share their faith. Campus Crusade for Christ is a non-denominational organization with a goal of reaching the world for Christ by 1980. Their strategy is to win. build and send men and women in all parts of the world to share Christ. With a staff of over 4,000 they have established ministries in 62 countries of the world.
Watch night party held A watch night party was held December 31. starting at 11:22 p.m., at North Webster Church of God The service was held in reverse with the benediction being given first. YOUTH VISIT IN MICHIGAN Kim Shipley, Laurel Mitchell, Andy Root. Katey Lemon and Pastor John Weeks from North Webster United Methodist church, journeyed to Angola on January 3. They attended a planning session for a youth retreat to be held February 22, 23, and 24 at Camp Amigo. Sturgis, Mich. College life program held Grant Milliken from Anderson college, presented a program about college life for senior high youth at North Webster Church of God. The program was held Tuesday at 7 p.m. Devotions were given, games enjoyed and refreshments served. COMMUNION AT METHODIST CHURCH 4 North Webster United Methodist church members celebrated Holy Communion from 7 p.m. till 12 p.m. on New Year’s eve. 'Prayer and Share' time held On New Year’s eve the youth of North Webster Church of God held a "prayer and share" time at the home of associate pastor John At ter berry The “prayer and share" time will be held each Tues, evening starting at 7 p.m.. with the exception of January 8 when it will start at 6 p.m.

Robert Day, president, announced the January board meeting will be held January 7 at North Webster United Methodist church fellowship hall. It was announced that John Clear is in charge of telephoning service for senior citizens or any person in need of assistance. Herb George and Judge Arthur Osborn were named cochairmen of a committee to promote plans for a hobby show, to be held at Wawasee high school commons during spring vacation. He also spoke about the economic conditions of the 36 countries he visited during the past year. Guests present were Ralph Bennett. George Hogg, Phil Fisher, Jim Teghtmeyer, Herman Orschleger and Norman Good, all from Columbia City. Evening services set for 7 p.m. Starting Sunday, Jan. 6. the evening services at North Webster Church of God will begin at 7 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. On April 7 the time of the Sunday evening worship service will again return to 7:30 p.m.
God's Children present concert God’s Children, musical group from North Webster United Methodist church, presented, under the direction of Charles Scott, a concert, on December 30 at the Webster School gym. The Lakeland community celebration, commerating the end of Key 73 evangelistic campaign, was attended by approximately 600 persons. Mel Grieder, from the North Webster Glory Bam gave the Invocation. No injuries in Thursday crash No injuries were sustained in a two vehicle crash on CR 1050 north Thursday afternoon about three and one-half miles south of Syracuse. Drivers of the vehicles in the crash which resulted on a curve were Ida Thibaut, 47, r 3 Syracuse, and John Harding, 19, Warsaw. State officers set damage at $250 to the Syracuse auto and SSO to the Harding vehicle. Hits utility pole on icy road Thomas L. Gibbs, 20, r 4 Milford, struck a utility pole last week on CR 450E near CR 1200 N. Gibbs reported that his auto slid on ice causing him to lose control. , , County police patrolman Jeff Bronsing set damage at S7OO to the Gibbs truck with no estimate given to the utility pole.
